    Abstract: The invention relates to a safety device for elevators, where an elevator turning wheel is connected to an elevator drive system comprised of an electric motor. The turning wheel is also coupled to a turn handle to move the elevator in the event of a power outage. The handle is also disposed in a holder containing a switch for connecting or disconnecting the supply of electric current to the elevator drive system.
