    Abstract: Currently, vehicle and pedestrian traffic on roadways is guided by lines painted on the asphalt or concrete, which are difficult to see at night or in rainy weather. The present invention provides an illuminated fiber optic guide path embedded in the surface of the roadway, which is selectively illuminated, such as in conjunction with traffic lights, to guide vehicles and pedestrians.
