  • Publication number: 20120087610
Abstract: The device is to be fitted at a side of a bearing unit in order to seal a gap (15) between a stationary race (11) and a rotatable race (10) of the bearing unit. The device includes a relatively rigid reinforcing insert (16) of disc-annular shape, and a gasket (17) of relatively soft rubber or elastomeric material, over-moulded or vulcanized onto the insert (16). The gasket forms two opposite peripheral sealing portions (18, 19) intended to perform a static sealing action against the rotatable race (10) and a dynamic sealing action on the stationary race (11), respectively. The insert (16) comprises magnetized or magnetizable material for forming, at predetermined angular zones or fields, a sequence of alternate and/or spaced north/south poles, in order to act as an encoder.

  • Publication number: 20090180721
Abstract: A rolling bearing device comprising two races 10, 11 able to rotate relative to one another and at least one seal 13 attached to one of the races and provided with an active portion 16 designed to interact with a sensor element to detect a parameter of rotation of the active portion, characterized in that it comprises, at least on one side of the rolling bearing, a groove 20 made in the outer race 10 and a groove 21 made in the inner race 11, said grooves being substantially coplanar, the seal 13 being mounted in one of the grooves of one of the races and interacting with at least a portion of the other groove of the other race in order to provide a dynamic seal.

  • Publication number: 20060157940
Abstract: The device includes an annular body (10) of rubber or elastomeric material associated with an annular reinforcing insert (20). The body (10) forms an oil-guard lip (15), a dust-cover lip (12) and a peripheral static sealing lip (13). The insert (20) is produced from plastics material and forms a discoidal annular portion (21) for supporting and connecting the lips (12, 13, 15). The insert (20) also forms a reinforcing structure (22) which projects axially from a radially internal region of the discoidal portion (21) and which is attached to the oil-guard lip (15) in order to ensure that that lip exerts controlled radial contact pressure against the stem (S) of a shock-absorber.
