  • Patent number: 11944501
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for performing automated measurements on medical images. In one example, a method includes acquiring a first ultrasound image and a second ultrasound image in accordance with a patient exam workflow, wherein the patient exam workflow calls for one or more measurements including a first measurement to be obtained on at least the first ultrasound image, automatically assessing whether the first ultrasound image is suitable for obtaining the first measurement during a time period where the second ultrasound image is being acquired, and if the first ultrasound image is automatically assessed as being unsuitable for obtaining the first measurement, automatically prompting the user, while the second ultrasound image is still being acquired, to reacquire the first ultrasound image.

Date of Patent: April 2, 2024
    Assignee: GE PRECISION HEALTHCARE LLC

  • Patent number: 9924922
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for displaying ultrasound data representative of a rotationally symmetrical contractible chamber or vessel within a patient which involves obtaining ultrasound data from the ultrasound imaging of the vessel or chamber through at least a phase of one cardiac cycle and virtually sectioning the vessel or chamber into multiple circumferential segments, each extending its own longitudinal distance from a common reference point. The data is used to obtain rotational parameters representative of an entire circumferential segment of the chamber or vessel. The process is repeated until a rotational parameter for each entire circumferential segment along a desired distance of the longitudinal axis of the chamber or vessel has been obtained. The rotational parameters are displayed in a two dimensional format having annular rings with each annular ring being representative of a given circumferential segment.

  • Patent number: 9384568
Abstract: Various embodiments include systems and methods for providing motion blur reduction to one or more three-dimensional (3D) images, and/or for improving accuracy of motion-compensated frame up-interpolations. The motion blur reduction may comprise application of iterative motion estimation, starting with an initial block size and with reduced block size in each iteration, with a final velocity vector being determined by summing displacement vectors from all iterations. Accuracy of motion-compensated frame up-interpolations may be improved by use of lower resolution frames (or portions of frames), which may be used in generating information used in enhancing motion related features or characteristics of motion-compensated frames.

  • Publication number: 20160143613
Abstract: A method includes obtaining first and second ultrasound image data and computing a coarse transverse flow field by applying an optical flow technique to compare the second ultrasound image data to the first ultrasound image data at a coarse scale. The method further includes computing a fine transverse flow field by applying optical flow technique to compare the second ultrasound image data to the first ultrasound image data at a scale that is finer than the coarse scale and superimposing the fine transverse flow field onto the coarse transverse flow field to form a first combined flow field.

  • Publication number: 20120065510
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system and method include generating an image from ultrasound data of an anatomical structure and fitting a model to the image, the model including a standard view of the anatomical structure. The system and method include calculating a quality-of-fit of the image to the model. The system and method include displaying an indicator based on the quality-of-fit of the image to the model.
