Patent number: 5625207Abstract: Transistors for controlling high currents are composed of a large number of paralleled transistor elements which are integrated in a semiconductor chip. In order to minimise the forward resistance through the semiconductor chip, the sources and the drains of the transistor elements are arranged on the same side of the semiconductor chip. The sources and the drains of the transistor elements and the source and the drain of the transistor component proper are contacted with one another by means of conductors arranged on at least two different levels, the conductors on a level more distant from the semiconductor chip being fewer than those on a level closer to the semiconductor chip, resulting in a small distance between the element electrode and the component electrode and, consequently, a small contribution to the forward resistance from the contacting.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1995Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: Elsa Elektroniska Systems and Applications ABInventors: Sten Trolle, Christer Svensson

Patent number: 5457393Abstract: A circuit for balancing an error signal delivered by an apparatus. When the apparatus is switched on initially, the error signal may be large and thereafter change only slowly with time. The error signal may be a signal which is delivered by a measuring sensor and which is independent of the quantity to be measured. The circuit includes a negative feedback loop 7, 11 which, immediately upon activating or starting the apparatus, feeds back a balancing signal which rapidly compensates the error signal. The circuit also includes components 12-16 for changing the feedback loop when the error signal has been substantially compensated, so that only slow changes in the error signal with a frequency below a selected upper limit frequency are fed back.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1994Date of Patent: October 10, 1995Assignee: Bofors ABInventor: Sten Trolle

Patent number: 4550658Abstract: A device for sorting packagings such as cans having overall dimensions within a pre-determined range as regards length and diameter, comprising a first sorting stage, including a pivoted supporting member for carrying the packagings and a frame with an opening through which the supporting member is movable to the second stage. The second stage includes pressing members cooperating with the supporting member to effect axial compression of the packagings carried by the supporting member. The opening of the frame is of a size which limits the dimension in at least one direction of the packagings passing through the opening. The second stage is provided with a second opening through which compressed packagings pass whereby the second opening maximizes the axial length of the compressed packagings which pass through the second opening and are thereby sorted out.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1983Date of Patent: November 5, 1985Inventor: Sten Trolle

Patent number: 4542689Abstract: Apparatus for sorting packagings such as cans of a certain type of material from packagings of other types of materials comprising a support member transporting the packagings one by one to a compression station at which are disposed first and second pressing members arranged to move relative to each other to compress the packagings transported by the supporting member. The relative movement of the pressing members and transfer of the packagings when relative movement of the pressing chambers has ceased is controlled by a regulating mechanism such that when compressive forces of a magnitude within a predetermined range required for packagings of the type of material in question allow the pressing members to move towards each other to complete the pressing operations whereby the packagings are compressed to a size before transfer to a collecting device. In the case of compressive forces of a magnitude outside the predetermined range, the packagings are prevented from being transferred to the collecting device.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1983Date of Patent: September 24, 1985Inventor: Sten Trolle

Patent number: 4091938Abstract: A machine for processing large workpieces, particularly a hydraulic press for working on large metal sheets, comprises external equipment for rigidly supporting and guiding the workpiece. The handling equipment is provided with means which permit the workpiece, together with part of the handling equipment, to carry out movements induced by the reactional forces generated in the workpiece by the tools of the machine. Those forces are held within predetermined limits, whereby the handling equipment is protected against damage but still capable accurately to position the workpiece relative to the tools before each processing step carried out by the tools.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1976Date of Patent: May 30, 1978Assignee: AB CarboxInventor: Sten Trolle

Patent number: 4060359Abstract: An isostatic press comprises a pressure vessel defined by a tubular jacket and by two end plugs. The jacket is, in the direction of its longitudinal axis, displaceble between two positions. The jacket surrounds a third plug centrally located between the two positions of the jacket so that, when the jacket is in one of its end positions, the central plug closes one end of the jacket, and vice versa. The two jacket positions alternatingly serve as pressing and charging positions so as to permit recharging of the press at one position simultaneously with carrying out a pressing operation at the other position. This arrangement approximately doubles the productivity of the press.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1977Date of Patent: November 29, 1977Assignee: AB CarboxInventors: Sten Trolle, Ake Jonson

Patent number: 4056347Abstract: An apparatus for isostatic compression of pulverulent materials comprises a pressure vessel housing two liquids which by a flexible diaphragm are held out of mutual contact. One liquid flows through a pumping circuit and constitutes a primary pressurization agent the pressure of which is, via the diaphragm, transferred to the other liquid surrounding a basket enclosing a soft walled container for the material to be compacted. According to the invention the basket is deformable so that the diaphragm can be pressed against it without being damaged by reactional forces. The result of the deformation capability of the basket is a reduction of the overall size of the pressure vessel.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1976Date of Patent: November 1, 1977Assignee: AB CarboxInventor: Sten Trolle
