  • Publication number: 20080298273
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for establishing a communication link. According to said method, to establish said link, a communications unit transmits at least one message that initiates the establishment of the communications link in at least one communications network and at least one corresponding confirmation is transmitted with the aid of a broadcast transmission method in the direction of the initiating communications unit. The information that represents the initiating communications unit is stored in the communications network or networks. The confirmation(s) that has or have been transmitted with the aid of the broadcast transmission method is detected and target information that is contained in said confirmation is compared to the stored information. If the compared information agrees at least partially, the confirmation(s) is or are routed to the initiating communication unit represented by the communication unit.

  • Publication number: 20080065857
Abstract: In a method of saving subscriber data from a connection multiplexer in a restart-resistant manner, the data is stored in one subscriber connection data record per subscriber, and contains an electronic address and a period of validity. The subscriber connection data records are stored in a restart-resistant memory, wherein a subscriber connection data record further includes an index identifying the subscriber concerned. After a restart of the connection multiplexer the subscriber data is reconstructed by determining a number of subscriber data sets and thereby an occupancy of the restart-resistant memory, and allocating individual subscribers arranged in linear fashion to their corresponding stored data sets with the aid of the index which is stored in a table and identifies each of the subscribers concerned.

  • Publication number: 20060245366
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for optimized ADSL data transmission, preferably according to the standard T1.413 or ITU G992.1, whereby on a line fault occurring, a training procedure is initiated to determine the highest possible data transmission rate and during an uninterrupted data transfer period following a training phase (T), a highest possible data transmission rate is set without carrying out a new training, by successive increases in the applied bit rate in at least one transmission band and monitoring of error counts.

  • Publication number: 20040258212
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for debugging xDSL line cards. An electrical connection is established by means of a test bus, between a line port to be tested and a testing line port which can be operated in the upstream and downstream direction with the same bandwidth. The testing line port is charged with a software which simulates a subscriber-side modem, and the successful establishment of a connection between the line ports represents a function confirmation for the line port to be tested.

  • Publication number: 20020089999
Abstract: A method for double-ended line qualification and monitoring of xDSL links employs a single test program which is sent by a first subscriber at one end of the xDSL link to a second subscriber at the other end of the xDSL link. Line qualification and/or monitoring is carried out by processing this test program and sending the test results obtained in this step back to the first subscriber. The line qualification and/or monitoring is triggered after the code of the test program has been transmitted by the first subscriber. In this method, the first subscriber represents a modem at the switching end and the second subscriber represents a modem at the subscriber end. The test program is a program module which is connected to other program modules via a message queue.

  • Patent number: 6236719
Abstract: For modem connections via telephone lines, modems that respectively correspond to the modems of the terminal equipment side are arranged in the subscriber line circuits of the telephone switching centers as close as possible to the entry point of the subscriber line circuits. Modem communication only respectively between these pairs.

  • Patent number: 6108414
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a subscriber-remote termination of a subscriber line, high-bit rate data signals and analog telephone signals. The arrangement integrates exchange-side devices, a splitter and a modem into a subscriber line circuit for the subscriber line. Additionally, the exchange-side devices, splitter and modem may be protected from overvoltages by an overvoltage protection circuit contained within the subscriber line circuit.
