  • Patent number: 8624898
Abstract: Typed dependency graphs represent digital assets as nodes in a graph. The digital assets, data files, and required software applications are represented as connected nodes. Nodes of the graph are connected by typed links, specifying the type of dependency relationship between digital assets, data files, and/or software applications associated with nodes. Type attributes can represent one-way dependencies, two-way dependencies, version relationships, variant relationships, subcomponent relationships, aggregation relationships, and software application/digital asset dependencies. Typed dependency graphs may be automatically created by parsing asset data or data files to determine the characteristics of assets and their relationships with other assets, data files, and software applications. Typed dependency graphs may be traversed based on the type of links, with the result defining a component, subcomponent, version, and/or variant.

  • Publication number: 20060015431
Abstract: A method for a computer system includes receiving a mapping schema between a plurality of asset-types within an asset-type hierarchy and a plurality of paths within an on-disk storage structure, receiving an asset-type definition list from a user, wherein the asset-type definition list comprises an asset-type from the plurality of asset types, and determining at least one path from the plurality of paths for providing access to assets of the asset-type in response to the mapping schema and the asset-type definition list.

  • Publication number: 20060010153
Abstract: A method for a computer system includes determining a dependency graph for a user-selected aggregate asset comprising a plurality of nodes, determining node types for the plurality of nodes, when a first node of the plurality of nodes comprises a file-level asset node, the method includes determining first status data associated with the first node, when a second node of the plurality of nodes comprises an aggregate asset node, the method includes determining a plurality of file-level asset nodes that are children nodes of the aggregate asset node, and determining status data associated with each of the plurality of file-level asset nodes, aggregating the first status data and the status data associated with the plurality of file-level asset nodes to form status data for the aggregate asset for the user.

  • Publication number: 20050253848
Abstract: A method for a computer system includes receiving and storing a first model of an animation asset in a first version location of the animation asset, providing a link between a named version of the animation asset to the first version location of the animation asset, wherein a name of the named version is specified by a first user, thereafter receiving and storing a second model of the animation asset in a second version location of the animation asset, providing the first model of the animation asset from the first version location of the animation asset in response to a specification of the named version of the animation asset by a second user, and providing the second model of the animation asset from the second version location of the animation asset in response to a specification of the animation asset by the second user.
