  • Patent number: 11876265
Abstract: In order to improve usability of hybrid or fully electric aircraft, a fuel cell having improved efficiency and increased volume/weight specific energy density is provided. The fuel cell has a self-supporting membrane structure that is formed as a triply periodic level surface, which separates a first cavity supplied with gaseous fuel from a second cavity supplied with gaseous oxidizer in a gas-sealed manner while connecting the cavities in an ion-conductive manner.

  • Publication number: 20230395898
Abstract: A heat conducting element for transferring heat away from a heat producing device includes a heat pipe or vapor chamber with a hollow structure that has at least one opening that reaches from outside the hollow structure into the interior of the hollow structure. The opening is sealed by a meltable material, so the interior of the hollow structure is fluid-tight, wherein inside the interior a working fluid in form of a saturated liquid and its vapor is provided for receiving, transferring and dissipating heat. The heat conducting has a predetermined operating temperature range with a minimum operating temperature and a maximum operating temperature. The meltable material has a predetermined melting temperature that exceeds the maximum operating temperature by a predetermined temperature difference, such that the meltable material melts if the hollow structure is exposed to a temperature that reaches the melting temperature to unseal the at least one opening.

  • Patent number: 11715835
Abstract: An interconnector plate for a fuel cell and a fuel cell system for an aircraft. For better extraction of the energy generated by the fuel cell, an interconnector plate can be attached by form fit to fixing studs of the fuel cell by retaining eyes. The interconnector plate may additionally be secured using glass solder. In preparation for a higher power density, a fuel cell can be produced in ceramic by 3D-printing and has an improved power density because of its helical shape.

  • Patent number: 10931098
Abstract: An energy supply device for reliably supplying energy to electrical loads, provides the energy supply by constant voltage sources. The number of constant voltage sources corresponds to the number of electrical loads. The energy supply device has a deactivatable balancing network. In this case, only the compensating currents are conducted via the balancing network, while the energy supply is provided via a direct electrical connection between the constant voltage source and the load. If a fault occurs, the balancing network can be deactivated. Faults in one branch thus do not affect the level of reliability of the energy supply in the remaining branches. After a faulty component has been located and isolated, the sources that are still intact, and the intact loads, can be brought back into operation by suitably configuring the balancing network. The availability of the drive system can thus be increased.
