Abstract: A sensor system for surrounding area detection for a motor vehicle, including an optical device for generating an optical transmission signal, and a transmitter device having: an optical input configured for receiving the optical transmission signal, a radio-based transmitter unit configured for emitting an electrical emitted signal, based on the optical transmission signal, and an optical transmitter unit configured for emitting an optical emitted signal which is based on the transmission signal. The sensor system also may include a receiver device having: an optical input configured for receiving the optical transmission signal, a radio-based receiver unit for receiving an electrical received signal, and an optical receiver unit for receiving an optical received signal. A central computing device is configured for processing emitted and/or received signals.

Abstract: Technologies and techniques for operating an electro-optical transmission device. An optical carrier signal is generated via an optical signal source of a base unit of the transmission device. An arbitrary signal is generated via the optical signal source, and the arbitrary signal is modulated onto the optical carrier signal in the base unit, forming a transmission signal. The transmission signal is transmitted to an antenna unit of the transmission device via an optical transmission medium, and the arbitrary signal and the carrier signal are separated in the antenna unit. Aspects also are directed to a computer program product and to a transmission device configured to perform such functions.

Abstract: A hydraulic deep drawing apparatus for a press for drawing shaped sheet metal parts from a workpiece. The apparatus comprises hydraulic pressure cylinders, a sheet holding plate supported by the hydraulic pressure cylinders and onto which the workpiece is laid, a tool baseplate arranged under the sheet holding plate, a ram which moves vertically toward the workpiece until just before contact with the workpiece, and which is fixed to a frame of the press at a gap .DELTA.s from the workpiece, and a multipoint unit having plural short stroke cylinders arranged according to a drawing ring contour, the short stroke cylinders being hydraulically actuated to bridge the gap .DELTA.s and press the workpiece against a drawing ring. A holding force for deep drawing the workpiece comprises an outer effect ring and an inner effect ring. The outer effect ring is loaded by sheet holding cylinders, and the inner effect ring is loaded by pressure pins and shaping pins.
