  • Patent number: 8216077
Abstract: An observation wheel type ride includes a support structure, a wheel which is rotatable mounted in the support structure and/or includes a transportation device movably supported on the wheel, and a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism includes a rotary drive and a drive cable, wherein a section of the drive cable is detachably fixed to a circumference of the wheel and/or to the transportation device for transmitting the rotary movement of the rotary drive to the wheel and/or to the transportation device. A deflection assembly deflects in a lateral direction with respect to the wheel that section of the drive cable, which is led over the rotary drive.

  • Patent number: 7823511
Abstract: An installation conveys individuals by way of a transporting device along a track located above the ground and borne by supports. The installation further has a base station, an apparatus for conveying the transporting device from the base station to a top station, and a running rail for the transporting device which starts from the top station and runs predominantly downward. The running rail extends along curves and loops from the top station to the base station. Provided in the region of the base station, in which the boarding location for the passengers is located, is a conveying tower configured with an upward-conveying apparatus for the transporting device. Located in a region of the top station is a transfer location at which the transporting device occupied by passengers is transferred from the upward-conveying apparatus to the running rail, along which they descend to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20070113753
Abstract: A amusement ride has a positionally fixed supporting structure on which transport devices for persons circulate. A rope drive conveys the transport devices about the supporting structure. The rope drive has one single closed-loop conveying rope which, in being crossed over by way of a deflecting device, forms two rope loops which engage on the transport devices.

  • Publication number: 20060145730
Abstract: A signal processing apparatus includes: (a) A signal treating unit for effecting signal treating functions to present a treated signal at an output. (b) A clock generator receiving a clock signal and using the clock signal for presenting an internal clock signal for use by the signal treating unit. (c) A clock simulating unit occasionally coupled with at least one of the clock signal and the clock generator provides a simulated clock signal generally similar to the internal clock signal when either of the clock signal or the internal clock signal is interrupted. (d) A control unit coupled with the signal treating unit, at least one of the clock signal input locus and the internal clock generator for selectively coupling one of the internal clock signal and the simulated clock signal for use by the signal treating unit.
