    Abstract: A pipe clamp for connecting two partially insertable pipes has a clamping strap that is placed circumferentially about the spherical end sections of the pipes inserted into one another. The clamping strap has two outwardly projecting clamping jaws provided with a hole through which a clamping screw extends. The clamping strap is curved about a transverse axis that is positioned for coaxially inserted pipes in the untightened state of the clamping strap in a central plane of the clamping strap extending perpendicularly to the coaxial center axes of the pipes at a spacing from a center of the spherical end sections of the pipes. The inner radius of the clamping strap in the untightened state is smaller than the outer radius of the spherical end sections such that the sum of the spacing and of the inner radius is greater than the outer radius of the end sections.

The radially outer end section has thread elements engaging the threaded screw shaft. The radially inner end section is connected to the housing bottom having a butt joint with interlocking undercuts. The bottom has a first transverse border with tongues arranged on opposite sides of the butt joint and projecting outwardly into an opening of the radially inner end section. A second straight transverse border of the bottom is supported on first grooves impressed radially inwardly in the clamping strap and opening toward the second transverse border. A second groove adjoins the opening and supports the bottom. The radially inner edges of the first and second circumferential grooves are aligned with an underside of the bottom and pass continuously into an inner side of the radially inner end section.

The first end has thread elements interacting with the threaded shaft. The second end is fastened to the housing bottom which has transverse edges extending transversely to the butt joint. The transverse edges have radially outwardly, circumferentially projecting tongues on opposite sides of the butt joint. The second end has openings on opposite sides of the butt joint for receiving the tongues. Depressions adjoin the openings. They project radially inwardly and extend longitudinally in a circumferential direction of the clamping strip away from the housing relative to the transverse edges. The tongues penetrate the openings and matchingly engage the depressions.

    Abstract: A clip for clamping an article, such as a hose, includes an annular clip band and a plurality of annular insert bands. Each of the insert bands has a first end section and a second end section. The end sections extend in the circumferential direction and overlap one another. One of the insert bands selectively surrounds a radial inside surface of the clip band. Each of the insert bands has a resistance to a relative displacement occurring in the circumferential direction of their mutually overlapping end sections. The resistances for each of the insert bands differs in such a manner that, when a predetermined clamping force is exerted on the clip band in the circumferential direction, a different predetermined radial clamping force on the clamped article results with the use of each respective insert band.

    Abstract: A holding device for securing a hose clip in position relative to a pipe connection over which a hose is to be positioned. The holding device has a plurality of holding arms arranged around an axis. The holding arms are connected by a connecting body and each has an internal, radially inwardly directed groove. All grooves are in the same transverse plane of the holding arms and are of the same width as the clip band so that the clip band can be received therein. Preferably, a hose clip in the form of a spring band clip with a clip band having radially outwardly angled clamping jaws is used. A U-shaped clamp, which holds the clamping jaws together when the spring band clip is in an open position, may be connected to the connecting body by a connecting member which permits the clamp to pivot away from the clamping jaws but which prevents the clamp from being separated and thereby becoming lost.

    Abstract: A coupling device which separably connects the end of a hose to the end of a pipe has a sleeve one end portion of which is connectable to the end of the hose and the other end portion of which has axially parallel resilient radially movable prongs serving to establish a form-locking connection with an external rib on the end of the pipe in response to insertion of the end of the pipe into the other end portion of the sleeve. A locking ring which is reciprocable on the sleeve between a retracted position and an operative position has axially parallel arms which overlie the prongs in the operative position of the ring. A C-shaped indicator of the condition of the form-locking connection has tongue-like male detent members which extend into sockets provided therefor in the prongs when the ring is held in the retracted position and the end of the pipe is not in form-locking engagement with the prongs of the sleeve.

    Abstract: One end portion of a pipe, which has a circumferentially extending external bead at the one end portion, is insertable into the internal sockets of an array of arms which are axially movably received in one end portion of a sleeve. The arms have external surfaces which cooperate with an internal surface of the sleeve to permit limited axial movements of the arms between first and second positions. When in the first positions, the arms can be flexed radially outwardly to thus permit insertion of the bead into or its extraction from the sockets. The internal surface of the sleeve and/or the external surfaces of the arms can but need not be conical, either entirely or in part. The sleeve can be inserted into a bore or hole of a nipple on a radiator or carburetor in a motor vehicle. One or more O-rings or other suitable sealing elements are installed between the sleeve and the external surface of the one end portion of the properly installed pipe.
