  • Patent number: 12232996
Abstract: The present application is directed to a method and system for restraining a patient before, during, or after surgery that increases efficiency of the surgical setup process and minimizes risk of musculoskeletal damage to the patient, particularly in surgeries requiring a patient to be in a Trendelenburg position (e.g., robotic or laparoscopic surgeries). One or more restraints can be worn by a patient prior to surgery', and may function to redistribute the patient's weight across the patient's torso to reduce strain on the patient's shoulders and back. The restraint(s) can be attached to a surgical table by way of an attachment mechanism coupled to the restraint(s) and the table. The attachment mechanism can secure the patient to the table by way of one or more straps, clips, and/or other intermediates. Optionally, the restraint(s) can fulfill other surgical needs, such as heat regulation and vascular compression.

  • Patent number: 11867284
Abstract: A gearbox system for a vehicle includes an automated manual gearbox; a gearbox control device which controls the gearbox; a monostable toggle switch which is movable by a user in two deflection directions to select a plurality of driving ranges of the gearbox control device, and a visual device which displays graphically a gearshift diagram with driving ranges selectable by the monostable toggle switch. The gearbox control device has a further driving range which cannot be selected by the monostable toggle switch but can be exited by moving the monostable toggle switch. The visual device has at least one display to display a symbol indicating at least one deflection direction by which the further driving range can be exited. The gearbox control device may control the at least one display such that the symbol is only displayed when the further driving range is selected.

  • Patent number: 11859710
Abstract: A control unit for an automatic transmission of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle includes a gear selection operating element which allows a user of the vehicle to set different drive positions of the transmission, but not individual gears, by actuating the gear selection operating element. The control unit is configured to determine that a drive position “L” has been set using the gear selection operating element, and in response thereto, the control unit is also configured to provide a graphical user interface on a screen of the vehicle. The user interface allows a manual gear shift of the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20230419848
Abstract: A system generates a training dataset based on historical consumption information and historical comprehension information of historical users, and uses the training dataset to train a machine-learned model to predict a measure of comprehension for a user consuming educational content. The system applies the machine-learned model to behaviors of a target user to determine a target measure of comprehension for target educational content, identifies one or more characteristics of the target educational content, applies a content identification model to identify supplemental educational content, and generates an educational content interface to present the supplemental educational content to the target user. In some examples, the system trains the machine-learned model to predict a collective measure of comprehension for a set of users consuming educational content, identifies a set of supplemental educational content, and generates a teacher interface to present the set of supplemental educational content.

  • Patent number: 11835129
Abstract: A control unit is provided for an automatic transmission of a vehicle. The vehicle has a gear selection operating element which allows a user of the vehicle to set different gear stages of the transmission by actuating the gear selection operating element, and the vehicle has at least one setting operating element which allows the user to change the value of a parameter of a function of the vehicle by actuating the setting operating element when the function of the vehicle is activated. The control unit is designed to detect an actuation of the gear selection operating element for a period of time which is equal to or longer than a minimum duration and to determine that the function of the vehicle is deactivated. In response thereto, the control unit is additionally designed to allow a manual change of the transmission gear by actuating the at least one setting operating element.
