  • Patent number: 10532692
Abstract: An illuminated trim fitting for a motor vehicle, in particular a trim fitting as a cover fitting of a sealing strip for the window channel of a vehicle door, is intended to provide a high-quality illuminating effect accompanied at the same time by a simple structural design, low manufacturing costs and space-saving means of attachment. In addition, the trim fitting is to differ as little as possible externally from non-illuminated trim fittings. For this purpose there is provision that a light gap is formed between a profiled strip of the trim fitting and the adjacent vehicle outer skin, through which light gap the light emitted by an optical waveguide provided on the rear of the trim fitting can exit to the outside.

  • Publication number: 20190001382
Abstract: A variable thickness roll forming system for forming a variable thickness blank including at least two sets of cylindrical shaped rollers. Each of the sets of rollers include: a first roller including a face which is linear where the first roller contacts the metal sheet; and a second roller including multiple shaping faces positioned about a perimeter and directed toward the face of the first roller. Each roller set incrementally alters a thickness of a metal sheet in a direction transverse to a metal sheet feed direction when the metal sheet is passed between the first and second rollers. The metal sheet after passing between the first and second rollers forms a roll formed blank having a first portion and a second portion positioned in the direction transverse to the feed direction with respect to the first portion, the first portion thicker than the second portion.

  • Patent number: 7458608
Abstract: Vehicle rollover protection system with a roll bar, whose top piece is rounded in a U-shape. Such top pieces are typically tubular and are made from pipe bending parts. In order to achieve a three-dimensional contour of the top piece with irregular cross section of its profile, the invention calls for at least the tubular top piece consisting of at least two axially divided partially tubular shells of sheet metal, joined to each other and having different geometrical shapes according to a nominal contour.

  • Patent number: 7438317
Abstract: A rollover protection device includes a cassette housing which guides an extendable rollover bar. The cassette housing includes guidances for the rollover bar. The rollover bar is a single shell or multi-shell form part made of fibre reinforced plastic and has shell edge regions which at least partially extend parallel to the extension direction. The cassette housing is a hollow profile made from high strength material and is closed around the rollover bar and the guidance. The guidance is a plastic form part engaging at a shell edge region, is secured within the hollow profile and protrudes from the hollow profile at least downwards.
