  • Patent number: 7677376
Abstract: An electromagnetic frictionally engaged clutch provided with a rotor part including a friction lining. An electrical coil and a first permanent magnet are arranged on the rotor part. The clutch also includes an armature disk which is connected to a second shaft and can be displaced in a rotationally fixed manner, but axially from a coupled end position to an uncoupled end position. The coil of the clutch is enabled to be current-free both in the coupled state and in the uncoupled state. To this end, a second permanent magnet is provided for exerting an axial force opposing the magnetic force of the first permanent magnet on the armature disk.

  • Publication number: 20070246322
Abstract: The invention relates to an electomagnetic frictionally engaged clutch (1) provided with a rotor part (4) comprising a friction lining (2). An electrical coil (6) and a first permanent magnet (14) are arranged on the rotor part (4). Said clutch also comprises an armature disk (10) which is connected to a second shaft (9) and can be displaced in a rotationally fixed manner, but axially from a coupled end position to an uncoupled end position. • Patent number: 7267214
Abstract: An electromagnetic frictionally engaged clutch for arranging inside a drive train connecting a drive motor and a vehicle door or flap. The arrangement ensures that the vehicle door is securely held in each intermediate position, when the clutch is in an idle state, while maintaining the possibility of a manual emergency actuation of the vehicle door. The rotor includes at least one permanent magnet in addition to the electric coil, such that when a current does not pass through the coil, the armature disk is pressed against the friction lining of the rotor, with a force which is strong enough for the vehicle door or vehicle flap to securely remain in position occupied when the clutch is an idle state, and for the friction engagement between the armature disk and the friction lining to be overcome when the vehicle door or vehicle flap is subsequently manually actuated.

  • Patent number: 7248011
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive unit for automatically actuating a tailgate of a motor vehicle. Connecting the drive unit (4) to the vehicle door (1) or to a transmission device (6) by means of an output shaft (5), said transmission device executing a pivoting movement which corresponds to the pivoting movement of the vehicle door (1), and the drive unit (4) comprising at least one first sensor device (7), which can be connected to an electronic evaluation device (21) and serves to detect the respective angular position of the vehicle door (1). In order to make use of the advantages of an incrementally operating position measurement system of the vehicle door (1), in which, recalibration is necessary not only after the end positions of the vehicle door (1) are reached following a power cut.

  • Patent number: 7040473
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromagnetic friction clutch for arrangement within a drive train connecting a drive motor and a vehicle door. The vehicle door is reliably held in any intermediate position when a clutch is disconnected. To preserve the ability to carry out a manual emergency actuation of the vehicle door, a compression spring is provided acting upon an armature disk of the clutch in the axial direction in such a way that, with the clutch in the disconnected state, the armature disk is pressed against the frictional lining of a rotor part with a force which is sufficient to ensure that the vehicle door remains reliably in position. During a subsequent manual actuation of the vehicle door, the frictional connection between armature disk and frictional lining can be overcome.
