  • Patent number: 7591340
Abstract: A steering and driving system (1, 53, 54) for an industrial truck with a driving engine (2), a driving transmission (21), a steering engine (4) and a steering transmission (5, 32, 32?), through that one rotor (23) arranged on a wheel hub (22) could be driven and is swivelable at a vertical axis (V). For the realization of the compact design form as well as lesser manufacturing costs for this steering and driving system is considered, that the driving engine (2), the steering engine (4) and the steering transmission (5, 32, 32?) are arranged co-axially to each other.

  • Publication number: 20090230791
Abstract: The invention concerns an electric drive unit with a steering motor and a propulsion motor which are arranged co-axially with one another and which, respectively, steer a wheel of the vehicle or drive it in the sense of propulsive movement. A first motor (1) has a hollow drive shaft (2), through which passes a second drive shaft (3) of the second motor (4). The second drive shaft (3) also extends through an outer wall (5) of the drive unit and, on the outside (6), is connected rotationally fixed to a fan wheel (7), such that air for cooling is blown outside along the housing of the drive unit.

  • Patent number: 7588113
Abstract: A wheel drive has one first prime mover (1), one brake (19) and one second prime mover (8) which are co-axially disposed. Via a reduction gear (4), the first prime mover (1) drives a drive wheel (7) for the traction gear, the second prime mover (8), via a planetary transmission (11), drive the prime mover in direction of a steering motion.

  • Publication number: 20080214347
Abstract: A drive unit (1) with a steering motor and a propulsion motor, a first (2) of the two motors having a hollow drive shaft (5) through which a drive shaft (14) of a second motor (10) passes. Winding heads (7) of the first motor are positioned radially inside winding heads (15) of the second motor and overlap with them in axial direction, to save structural space in the axial direction. A stator (11) of the second motor is not solid but hollow with a port or bell shape. A rotor (12) of the second motor is in contact with the associated drive shaft not over its entire axial length, but only at a first end (13) which forms the bottom of the pot. This design forms a hollow space in which elements of the first motor can be accommodated at least partially. Parts of the two electric motors (2, 10) overlap in axial direction, where further axial structural space is advantageously saved.
