Abstract: An apparatus for downmixing three or more audio input channels to obtain two or more audio output channels is provided. The apparatus includes a receiving interface for receiving the three or more audio input channels and for receiving side information. Moreover, the apparatus includes a downmixer for downmixing the three or more audio input channels depending on the side information to obtain the two or more audio output channels. The number of the audio output channels is smaller than the number of the audio input channels. The side information indicates a characteristic of at least one of the three or more audio input channels, or a characteristic of one or more sound waves recorded within the one or more audio input channels, or a characteristic of one or more sound sources which emitted one or more sound waves recorded within the one or more audio input channels.

  • Publication number: 20170366830
Abstract: Audio video synchronization and alignment or alignment of audio to some other external clock are rendered more effective or easier by treating fragment grid and frame grid as independent values, but, nevertheless, for each fragment the frame grid is aligned to the respective fragment's beginning. A compression effectiveness lost may be kept low when appropriately selecting the fragment size. On the other hand, the alignment of the frame grid with respect to the fragments' beginnings allows for an easy and fragment-synchronized way of handling the fragments in connection with, for example, parallel audio video streaming, bitrate adaptive streaming or the like.

  • Patent number: 9830915
Abstract: An audio signal decoder for providing a decoded audio signal representation on the basis of an encoded audio signal representation has a decoder preprocessing stage for obtaining a plurality of frequency band signals from the encoded audio signal representation, a clipping estimator, a level shifter, a frequency-to-time-domain converter, and a level shift compensator. The clipping estimator analyzes the encoded audio signal representation and/or side information relative to a gain of the frequency band signals in order to determine a current level shift factor. The level shifter shifts levels of the frequency band signals according to the level shift factor. The frequency-to-time-domain converter converts the level shifted frequency band signals into a time-domain representation. The level shift compensator acts on the time-domain representation for at least partly compensating a corresponding level shift and for obtaining a substantially compensated time-domain representation.

  • Patent number: 5564733
Abstract: Motor vehicle instrument panel including a stiffening panel defining an instrument panel shape. The stiffening panel includes an airbag cover section and a hinge connection section which connects the airbag cover section to adjacent stiffening panel sections. A reinforcement mat is connected to a side of the stiffening panel which faces away from a vehicle passenger space bounded by the instrument panel when in an in-use position in a vehicle. The reinforcement mat includes a plurality of openings, and the reinforcement mat and stiffening panel are connected together by pressing of material of the stiffening panel into the openings of the reinforcement mat thereby providing an intimate connection of the reinforcement mat and stiffening panel without requiring additional fastening material.

  • Patent number: 5440310
Abstract: A bandwidth synthesized radar level measurement system includes a transceiver for generating a transmitted signal and a sweep signal. An antenna coupled to the transceiver sends the transmitted signal toward a level corresponding to a product surface and receives a reflected signal therefrom. A sweep generator generates a chirp slope signal in response to the reflected signal. An intermediate frequency (IF) processor receives the chirp slope signal and a difference signal mixed from the transmitted and reflected signals. The IF processor produces an amplified IF signal and a sweep control receives the amplified IF signal to adaptively control the sweep generator and to produce an output signal including a distance from the antenna to the level corresponding to the product surface.

  • Patent number: 5427409
Abstract: A cover panel is provided for an airbag which is folded into a housing and, in a cover position, covers the housing opening. The panel is connected to a surrounding surface via at least one web. An unfolding opening is cleared as a result of the web breaking off during unfolding of the airbag. Each web projects in a tongue shape into the surrounding surface. A predetermined break point of the web is provided outside the opening edge of the unfolding opening in the region of the surrounding surface.

  • Patent number: 5335937
Abstract: Impact protection devices, arranged in steering wheels or dashboards of motor vehicles, for vehicle occupants are provided with covers which open in the event of an accident in order to release an inflating air bag of the protection device. The cover, which consists of at least one cover flap, is injection molded onto a carrier part by a tough elastic plastic. The plastic surround has along an edge, intended as pivot axis, of the cover flap a cross-sectional tapering which serves as a hinge. At the other edges, the plastic surround is constructed towards the corresponding edges of the carrier part as a groove which, in the event of pressure on the cover flap in the opening direction, easily releases the carrier part edge.
