  • Publication number: 20070151802
Abstract: A Powerclimb is a powered rope climbing devise used to pull a climber directly up a rope safely and quickly requiring little effort on the part of the climber. In the same way, the Powerclimb can also be used by a climber to go down a rope. This is accomplished using a power source, variable-speed switch, gearing, an ascender with a releasing devise, one powered grooved roller and a combination of two guide rollers and a rope paw.

  • Publication number: 20060168771
Abstract: A Strand Hub for use with a multi-strand steel cable for securing multiple trees or multiple poles together includes an outer body made of aluminum or another suitable soft metal with tapered openings extending therethrough. The Strand Hub also includes tapered inner bodies made of stainless steel or other suitable hard metal with a central bore extending therethrough for receiving a single strand of the multi-strand steel cables therein, and is sized and configured to be received in and cooperate with the tapered openings in the outer body. With this construction, the multi-strand steel cable can be partially unwound and a single strand threaded through the central bores in the tapered inner bodies, and the remaining strands can be threaded between the inner body and the outer bodies. The single middle strands are then bent over the tapered inner bodies to quickly and easily fix the Strand Hub on the multi-strand steel cables, thereby securing the trees or poles together.

  • Patent number: 6016725
Abstract: A combination wrench for threading and unthreading a J-shaped lag screw into trees, telephone poles, and the like includes an elongate wrench shaft having first and second opposite ends and a substantially closed loop adjacent the first end. The closed loop is adapted to be looped over an end of the J-shaped lag screw to allow the J-shaped lag screw to be turned. A hook is formed adjacent the second end of the elongate wrench shaft and is adapted to be removably hooked into the J-shaped lag screw to enable the lag screw to be turned. The hook and the loop are each offset from the elongate wrench shaft to provide hand clearance.
