Publication number: 20230111877Abstract: Technologies are described for performing revision control for product masters within a database system. For example, a product master, comprising master data representing a product, can be received. The product master can be identified by a unique product identifier. A definition of a minor revision of the product master can also be received and stored in association with the product master. The definition of the minor revision can comprise: one or more revision attributes that are specific to the minor revision, one or more document objects that are specific to the minor revision, and/or an indication of a bill of material (BOM) version that is specific to the minor revision. A given product master can have multiple minor revisions, each with its associated attributes, documents, and BOM version.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 8, 2021Publication date: April 13, 2023Applicant: SAP SEInventor: Stephan Toebben

Patent number: 9305270Abstract: A system and method of synchronizing recipes and bills of materials (BOM). An approved recipe is parameterized in a planning interface. A BOM is synchronized with the parameterized recipe. The BOM is then displayed in a graphical user interface to allow a user to modify by a resolve conflict present during synchronization.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2009Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Assignee: SAP SEInventors: Steffen Springborn, Kai-Martin Schroeder, Gregor Rieken, Stephan Toebben

Publication number: 20150213154Abstract: A method for generating a product data structure for a configurable product may include receiving a computer-aided design (CAD) model including one or more configurations of the product. Model data may be extracted from the CAD model. The extracted model data may include geometric information of product items from each configuration of the product. The extracted model data may be provided in the product data structure including product item variants and instances associated with the variants. The instances may provide geometric information extracted from the CAD model.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 28, 2014Publication date: July 30, 2015Inventors: Stephan Toebben, Guido Hoeckele, Thomas Berger

Patent number: 8825854Abstract: A method and system for providing a secure method and process for accessing resources that are made available by a server. A demilitarized zone (DMZ) framework provides a frontend system that is protected by a firewall and separated from a backend system by a second firewall. The frontend system provides the user interface functionality common to the backend but contains no access directly to the resources that the user interface operates upon. Placing the user interface on a separate machine from the resource data provides an additional layer of security. In addition, separate communication protocols are used between the user and the frontend and between the frontend and the backend system. Thus, a malicious programmer or program will not know the location of the resource or the method for communicating with the backend server to access the resource.Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 2008Date of Patent: September 2, 2014Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Wolfgang Walter, Iain Morrison, Gregor Rieken, Moritz Thomas, Stephan Toebben

Patent number: 8417726Abstract: Method and apparatus for enabling the user to guide the synchronization of a source data structure with a target data structure. The guided synchronization stores the operations defined by the user and reapplies them to future synchronizations.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2009Date of Patent: April 9, 2013Assignee: SAP AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gerhard Himmelsbach, Winfried Schwarzmann, Gregor Rieken, Stephan Toebben, Jochen Schrempf, Holger Kiefhaber

Patent number: 7757203Abstract: The invention relates to a computer-implemented method, computer program, computer program product, data structure, and computer for providing automated process flow in product development. A structured data object may be defined comprising at least one recipe and at least one defined formula. Trial stages within said product development are also defined as are object types within said data object referring to said trial stages. An instance of said data object is instantiated from said data object definition. A type of said instance is specified from one of said object types. A user may then be provided said recipe and/or said formula according to the specified type.Type: GrantFiled: December 19, 2003Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: SAP AGInventors: Juergen Scholl, Stephan Toebben, Helga Walter, Ralf Kau

Publication number: 20050137928Abstract: The inventions relate to computer-implemented methods, computer programs, computer program products, computers, and data structures for providing process monitoring functionality. A process object comprising at least one task object is defined. For said task object, at least one activity status is defined and rules within said process object are provided. The rules define a process object status based on said at least one activities status. The rules are executed on said at least one activity status of said at least one task object to determine said process object status.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2003Publication date: June 23, 2005Inventors: Juergen Scholl, Stephan Toebben

Publication number: 20050137725Abstract: The invention relates to computer-implemented methods, computer program, computer program product, display and computer for providing a recipe editing interface within one single view. At least one recipe is retrieved from a database. Process stages and respective formulae are extracted from the recipe. The formulae for said respective process stages are displayed within a single view. Value inputs for ingredients are read from said formulae. A relative amount of said ingredients is calculated with respect to said output amount and said relative amount is displayed within said single view.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2003Publication date: June 23, 2005Inventors: Juergen Scholl, Stephan Toebben
