Abstract: Technologies are described for performing revision control for product masters within a database system. For example, a product master, comprising master data representing a product, can be received. The product master can be identified by a unique product identifier. A definition of a minor revision of the product master can also be received and stored in association with the product master. The definition of the minor revision can comprise: one or more revision attributes that are specific to the minor revision, one or more document objects that are specific to the minor revision, and/or an indication of a bill of material (BOM) version that is specific to the minor revision. A given product master can have multiple minor revisions, each with its associated attributes, documents, and BOM version.

Abstract: A system and method of synchronizing recipes and bills of materials (BOM). An approved recipe is parameterized in a planning interface. A BOM is synchronized with the parameterized recipe. The BOM is then displayed in a graphical user interface to allow a user to modify by a resolve conflict present during synchronization.

Abstract: A method for generating a product data structure for a configurable product may include receiving a computer-aided design (CAD) model including one or more configurations of the product. Model data may be extracted from the CAD model. The extracted model data may include geometric information of product items from each configuration of the product. The extracted model data may be provided in the product data structure including product item variants and instances associated with the variants. The instances may provide geometric information extracted from the CAD model.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a secure method and process for accessing resources that are made available by a server. A demilitarized zone (DMZ) framework provides a frontend system that is protected by a firewall and separated from a backend system by a second firewall. The frontend system provides the user interface functionality common to the backend but contains no access directly to the resources that the user interface operates upon. Placing the user interface on a separate machine from the resource data provides an additional layer of security. In addition, separate communication protocols are used between the user and the frontend and between the frontend and the backend system. Thus, a malicious programmer or program will not know the location of the resource or the method for communicating with the backend server to access the resource.
