  • Patent number: 6166903
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic power module comprising electronic power components (1) each having at least one contact face (2), control connections (4) for connecting the components to a control module, power connections (5) for conveying power between the components and/or other modules, and at least one metal heat exchanger (6) for removing power dissipated by the Joule effect in the electronic power components (1). According to the invention the contact faces (2) of the electronic power components (1) are mounted directly on the metal heat exchanger (6), the metal heat exchanger (6) being at the same potential as the contact faces (2) of the electronic power components (1).

  • Patent number: 6046920
Abstract: A power converter having two main switches connecting an outlet either to a positive rail or to a negative rail, two free-wheel diodes enabling the current through the load to be maintained, two snubber capacitors, and an auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit includes an auxiliary inductor in series with two auxiliary switches coupled between the outlet and a midpoint of a capacitive voltage divider that provides a midpoint voltage. A detector detects current oscillation between the auxiliary inductor and the snubber capacitors, and then switches off the oscillation current and allows the intended main switch to conduct in response to the interruption.

  • Patent number: 5880949
Abstract: A power converter comprises two main switches connecting an output either to the positive rail or to the negative rail. Two freewheel diodes for maintaining the current in the load, two snubbers and an auxiliary circuit including an auxiliary inductor in series with two auxiliary switches connected between the output and a mid-point of a capacitive voltage divider supplying a median voltage. Any error of the median voltage relative to its nominal value is evaluated and the main switches are additionally commanded, depending on the direction of the error, for a time period dependent on the amplitude of the error, in order to cause an additional current in the auxiliary circuit to correct the error at least in part.
