  • Patent number: 8515651
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for stabilizing a controller and to the use of that method for stabilizing a controller system in an internal combustion engine. It is proposed that the stability of the controller first be established or excluded, that the control characteristic of the controller be altered and that the stability be checked again, and that those steps be repeated in a loop. For use in internal combustion engines, it is proposed that the order of precedence for the stabilization be specified and optionally made dependent on external ambient parameters.

    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH

  • Patent number: 8424288
Abstract: A method is described for operating an internal combustion engine in motor vehicles, in which air is supplied to a combustion chamber via a throttle valve and an air supply channel, and in which exhaust gas is conducted through a particulate filter and is returned at least intermittently and at least partially through an exhaust gas recirculation valve into the air supply channel, and in which an oxygen proportion in the exhaust gas is detected using at least one lambda probe. In this context, in an overrun operation, the throttle valve is controlled to close and the exhaust gas recirculation valve is controlled to open, a variable characterizing the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas is compared to a boundary value, and as a function of the result of the comparison, it is concluded that there is a leakage in the air supply channel.

  • Publication number: 20100154388
Abstract: Suggested is a procedure for regenerating a particle filter (16) that is arranged in the exhaust gas area (15) of a combustion engine (10), whereby at least temporarily a throttling of the intake air (m_L) as well as a detection of the intake air pressure (p_L) is provided during the regeneration, and a device for implementing the procedure, at which the intake air pressure (p_L) is compared to a lower intake air pressure threshold value (p_L_Min) and when falling below the intake air pressure threshold value (p_L_Min) the throttling of the intake air (m_L) is reduced.
