  • Patent number: 5716464
Abstract: Process for producing a strip of hot rolled steel sheet having a very high yield point of use in particular for the forming of parts and having a brittle/ductile transition at a temperature below -50.degree. C., characterized in that the steel having the following composition by weight;carbon.ltoreq.0.1%,1%.ltoreq.manganese.ltoreq.1.5%,silicon.ltoreq.0.3%,phosphorus.ltoreq.0.03%,sulphur.ltoreq.0.01%,0.01%.ltoreq.aluminium.ltoreq.0.1%,0.04%.ltoreq.niobium.ltoreq.0.06%,0.1%.ltoreq.titanium.ltoreq.0.15%,0.1%.ltoreq.molybdenum.ltoreq.0.2%,is subjected, after hot rolling, to a controlled cooling at a cooling rate of between 20.degree. C. per second and 100.degree. C. per second down to a temperature of between 550.degree. C. and 750.degree. C. of the end of the cooling. The invention also relates to the sheet obtained.
