  • Publication number: 20040256587
Abstract: System for closing off an opening in a plastic tank, formed from a sheet of multilayer plastic that includes a barrier layer, the said sheet being welded around the perimeter of the opening and provided with a peripheral region that is slimmed down so as to effectively restrict the permeation of gases and liquids into the layer located between the tank and the barrier layer.

  • Publication number: 20040247809
Abstract: Impermeable hollow body suitable as a fuel tank, made of thermoplastic material comprising at least one polyolefin and coated with a polyvinyl alcohol film impermeable to and insoluble in water owing to its crosslinking by a chemical agent and/or owing to the presence of an epoxy protective layer.

  • Patent number: 6814921
Abstract: Process for manufacturing a plastic fuel tank from two shells formed by molding, which are joined together, at least one shell being produced by compression-molding a portion of a plastic sheet between a mold and a punch and by the remaining portion of the sheet being blow-molded in the region not compression-molded.

  • Patent number: 6634342
Abstract: Fuel system for a vehicle with a heat enigine, comprising a hollow body made of plastic, designed to contain or to transport fuel, and means of covering this hollow body by means of a rigid jacket surrounding the hollow body. The covering means form, with the surface of the hollow body, a confined space fitted with a device for flushing by means of air. The air which entrains any emitted vapours is purified before being discharged into the atmosphere or is mixed with the air blown out by the engine. The invention is applicable to a double jacket for a fuel tank made of plastic or to a fuel pipe fitted with a concentric channel.
