  • Publication number: 20230309203
Abstract: In order to operate an induction cooktop with a cooktop plate, at least two induction heating coils thereunder, a cooktop controller, and a power unit for supplying power to the induction heating coils, the two induction heating coils are jointly supplied with power and operated with in each case one power density spectrum with precisely one maximum. In a first operating mode, the power density spectra are measured and it is established how their respective maxima are located relative one another, and the sum thereof is formed. The difference in power density between a local minimum of the sum, which is located between the two maxima of the sum, and the two maxima of the sum is then reduced. To this end, the switch-on time and/or the switch-off time of at least one of the circuit-breakers is varied in order to actively modify the power density spectrum of the power supply.

  • Publication number: 20230199920
Abstract: In a method for operating a cooktop having a cooktop plate and adjacent heating means arranged thereunder along a straight line, and a pan detection means for detecting a relative coverage of each heating means by cooking vessels placed thereover, it is detected in a preceding step over which of the heating means a cooking vessel has been placed and thus that a relative coverage is present. In a subsequent step, the pan detection means is used to detect how great is the relative coverage of each covered heating means, and from this result and a comparison of these results for each heating means a case analysis is performed into one of several cases.

  • Patent number: 11229092
Abstract: The invention relates to a heating circuit for induction heating coils of an induction cooking hob and to an induction cooking hob including such a heating circuit. In the heating circuit, there are in each case two auxiliary half bridges interconnected to excite a respective resonant circuit for an induction heating coil such that the resonant circuit is excited by a full bridge. Thereby, lost heat is considerably reduced. Via a connecting device the auxiliary half bridges can be controlled to excite induction heating coils, which are partly or fully covered by a cooking vessel.

  • Publication number: 20200196399
Abstract: In order to detect whether a cooking vessel with an integrated controller or intelligence is arranged over an induction heating coil on an induction hob, the induction heating coils emit a short individual coding. This can be detected and evaluated by the cooking vessel, with the result that the cooking vessel emits a signal which corresponds to this coding and is received by an external operating device or the induction hob for the purpose of locally assigning this cooking vessel to this induction heating coil.

  • Patent number: 10342075
Abstract: An induction heating device including two induction heating coils and a plug-type contact device has a flat coil carrier for the induction heating coils, the plug-type contact device being arranged on the bottom face of the coil carrier with an insertion direction perpendicular to the surface of the coil carrier. The plug-type contact device has, on the bottom face of the coil carrier, a plug housing being movable with a defined movement travel in a plane parallel to the surface of the coil carrier. The plug housing has four receiving chambers being open at the bottom and having a direction of extent parallel to the insertion direction, in each of which a plug-type contact is arranged. A contact-making line runs from the plug-type contact to the induction heating coil.

  • Publication number: 20070114073
Abstract: A capacitive sensor to detect a finger for an operation of a control and/or command comprises an electrically insulating layer forming a detection surface fitted with position marks for application of a finger, and generation of a signal by positioning or movement of the finger. A capacitive layer is covered by an insulating layer and formed by a stack of alternating conductive sections and non-conductive sections placed on edge. At least some conductive layers are linked to elementary contacts to form parts of capacitors distributed in cells. The capacitance of all capacitors of a cell is added together in the signal supplied by the cell. A processing circuit linked to the cell connectors of the capacitive cells receives the capacitive signals to evaluate and compare them, and to establish whether they correspond to the presence of a finger, and to determine the nature of the finger.
