Abstract: A portable object for near field communication with an external reader able to provide a magnetic field. The object has no internal power supply or energy storage. It includes a near field communication module having at least one antenna and a microcontroller for managing the near field communication; and a support member in the form of a bracelet for receiving the antenna. The object is designed such that the antenna extends substantially along the bracelet-shaped support member, so that, when the object is within the incident magnetic field, the antenna, which is wound over the length of the support member, is at least partly exposed to the field irrespective of the orientation of the object in space. Also provided is an an antenna for a portable object.

Abstract: A method for virtualizing a connected object of a communications network. The connected object has at least one main characteristic. The method includes: obtaining at least one identifier and at least one main characteristic of the connected object to be virtualized; obtaining at least one enrichment characteristic; and creating an avatar comprising: a first data structure comprising the main characteristic of the connected object; a second data structure comprising the enrichment characteristic; instructions of programs for implementing the enrichment characteristic; and an address management structure, a so-called proxy, comprising a correspondence at least between an avatar address and a connected object address.

Abstract: The invention relates to a portable object (OP) suitable for rendering at least one secure service (S) via a near field (NFC). Abstract: A system is provided for paying vendors for their products and services by means of anonymous prepaid purchase tickets issued by a banking institution. The system includes ticket issuing means and ticket generating means associated respectively with first data storage means in which the ticket(s) belonging to each user are stored and second data storage means in which goods bought by means of each ticket are stored and the value of each ticket is updated according to the payments made by means of the tickets. The system also includes a system for managing the value of each ticket according to payments effected and for managing remuneration of vendors, the management system being associated with the second data storage means and supplying information on payments effected to the banking institution for remunerating each vendor.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method of securing credit card transactions between a holder and a merchant, particularly via a telecommunication network, characterized in that it comprises the steps in which: the holder signifies to a third party his intention to enter into contact with the merchant; the holder enters into contact with the merchant through the third party; the third party establishes a link between itself and the holder, and between itself and the merchant; the third party manages the formation of temporary information, the entry of this information in the order form and the relational connection of the temporary information with the real bank information from the credit card of the holder to check the various authorizations with the banks for the acknowledgement of the order. The invention also relates to a system and a third party for implementing the method, and a computer program product included in the third party.

Abstract: A coupling technique for the side coupling of light from a light source into a waveguide is provided. A transversal groove is made into a section of the waveguide, extending into the target light guiding region. A coupling element is coupled to the light source at one of its end to receive the light beam therefrom. The opposite end of the coupling element is inserted in the groove and has at least one reflecting interface which specularly reflects the light beam for propagation into the waveguide. This technique may advantageously be used to couple light from the laser diodes of an array into one or a plurality of optical fibers.

Abstract: A method and a kiosk for managing access to goods and services available via a computer network. A list of identifiers is created. Each identifier is associated with at least one service of a merchant. Tickets are distributed to customers. Access to a service is authorized upon recognition of an identifier on a ticket. The kiosk comprises a generator for generating a list of identifiers, a supervisor which associates an identifier with at least one service of a merchant, a data base of tickets to which the identifier has been applied, and a controller for checking the identifier.

A management space is assigned for each shopkeeper on the management platform which is remotely located from the shop and is accessible via a network, such as the Internet. Access to the shopkeeper's management space is controlled by authorized list. Certain pre-arranged management tools for this shop are made available to the shopkeeper in the corresponding assigned management space.
