  • Patent number: 11351484
Abstract: A Spin-on filter assembly that can be used with both suction-side and pressure-side filtration systems is described. The filter assembly screws onto a filter mounting head. The filter mounting head is part of a filtration system that provides fluid to be filtered to the filter assembly. The filter assembly filters the fluid to be filtered through a filter media contained within the filter assembly and provides the filtered fluid back to the filter mounting head. The filter assembly includes an upper seal that seals the clean side of the filter media from the dirty side of the filter media when the filter assembly is connected to the filter mounting head in an installed position. The upper seal includes a sealing ridge that has an elongated shape and is flexible such that the filter assembly can be used on both pressure-side and suction side applications in filtration systems.

  • Patent number: 10755426
Abstract: An electronic device comprises circuitry implementing a depth map enhancer. The depth map enhancer obtains an initial depth map corresponding to a scene and an image of the scene. The depth map enhancer generates a refined depth map corresponding to the scene using an optimizer, the initial depth map and the image. The refined depth map includes estimated depth indicators corresponding to at least a first depth-information region, identified based at least in part on a first criterion, of the initial depth map. Input based on the refined depth map is provided to an image processing application.

  • Patent number: 10201771
Abstract: A filtration system is described. The filtration system includes a filter housing having a central tube and a replaceable filter element. The central tube includes a gasket that plugs a passage from the dirty side of the filter element to the clean side of the filter element when the filter element is installed in an operational position. The gasket includes an integrated drain extending through the gasket. The gasket is integrated into the central tube and stays in place when the filter element is removed (e.g., during replacement of the filter element). The removal of the filter element opens the drain to allow for the draining of the fluid from the housing to the tank. The gasket is reusable and does not need to be replaced with each filter element replacement.

  • Publication number: 20170197162
Abstract: No-filter no-run filtration systems are described. The filtration systems include a valve positioned within a filter housing. The valve is normally biased in a closed position when a filter cartridge is not inserted into the filter housing such that from within the filter housing cannot flow to an internal combustion engine. The filter cartridge includes a main filter element and a hydrophobic screen assembly. The hydrophobic screen assembly includes a valve interaction pin that interacts with and opens the valve when the hydrophobic screen assembly is received in the filter housing in an operating position. Accordingly, fuel can only flow from the filter housing to the fuel injectors when the hydrophobic screen is received within the housing in an operating position. The hydrophobic screen is a separate component from the main filter element allowing for independent replacement of the main filter element and the hydrophobic screen.

  • Publication number: 20160332095
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to a filter element having a seal that functions as an anti-drain seal. The seal prevents fluid being filtered (e.g., fuel) from flowing back to a fluid storage tank (e.g., a fuel tank) through a drain in the filter housing when the filter element is in an installed position within the filter housing. The seal and the filter housing allow fluid to flow back to the fluid storage tank when the filter element is being removed from the filter housing (e.g., during a filter change service). The seal is removably coupled to the filter element such that the seal can be reused with replacement filter elements. The seal also functions as an engine integrity protection mechanism. Thus, the seal performs functions as a sealing device, draining device, and engine integrity protection feature.
