  • Publication number: 20140303815
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of methods for determining a taxiing path of an aircraft over an airport area. The method is implemented by the avionics system of the aircraft. It comprises the following steps: Determining the “nodes” of a connectivity graph, said nodes representing the junction points between the traffic lanes of said airport area; Determining the useful arcs joining said nodes and representing the network of traffic lanes that can be taken by the aircraft; Attributing a “weight” to each useful arc; Determining the optimal path by an algorithm of Dijkstra type starting from the present position of the aircraft up to its destination position and passing through datum points; Computing, and displaying a graphical representation including a representation of the airport area, of the aircraft and of the optimal path.

  • Publication number: 20140249739
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of systems for aiding the guidance of a first aircraft travelling around an airport zone. The system according to the invention comprises: a set of databases comprising bulkiness and performance characteristics of the said first aircraft, geometric and technical characteristics of the airport zone and information about the air traffic in the immediate environment of the said first aircraft; calculation means making it possible to firstly determine a safety zone around the said first aircraft taking into account at least the position of the said aircraft, its size and the uncertainty in the measurement of its position; and then a taxiing indication on the basis of the information arising from the databases and the characteristics of the safety zone; viewing means displaying at least one view of the airport zone in which the first aircraft is situated and a representation of the said taxiing indication.

  • Publication number: 20140236470
Abstract: The general field of the invention is that of methods for determining safety zones surrounding an aircraft travelling or taking off from an airport zone, the safety zone being calculated at a determined instant that may be the present instant or the future instant. The method according to the invention comprises at least the following steps: Step 0: Establishment of a convex safety envelope surrounding the aircraft on the basis of reference points taken on the aircraft; Step 1: Establishment of a first convex envelope safety zone surrounding the aircraft on the basis of reference circles taken on the aircraft, each circle having as centre one of the reference points and as radius the value of the uncertainty in the exact position of the aircraft. Other steps of the method make it possible to refine this first safety zone depending on whether the aircraft is in a taxiing or takeoff phase and depending on whether it is calculated at the present instant or at the future instant.

  • Patent number: 8635009
Abstract: Systems and of the methods for allowing a taxiing route to be established over an airport area are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises input of an instruction representative of a succession of names of passing points representing the taxiing route to be created, each passing point name being composed of alphanumeric characters, the succession of the names of passing points not comprising separators allowing them to be identified one by one. The method also comprises decomposition of the instruction by a lexical analysis device into at least one succession of credible names of passing points. The method further comprises verification for each succession that the corresponding route is compatible with the connectivities existing between the various airport elements of the taxiing clearance corresponding to the succession, in the case where there exists one and only one credible route, display of the said route on a display device.

  • Patent number: 8433459
Abstract: An aircraft guidance system for assisting in airport navigation includes: at least one airport database comprising topology data of an airport, called airport DB; at least one configuration database comprising aircraft configuration data and the position of a guidance point; a positioning system delivering aircraft kinematic and attitude parameters; at least one computer generating a 2D view of the representation of the airport notably comprising navigation indications and a representation of the aircraft; and at least one display for displaying the representation of the airport. In the system, a first symbol is generated on the display indicating the position of an early guidance point, corresponding to the position of the guidance point at a future time.

  • Publication number: 20110246003
Abstract: The invention relates to a monitoring system dedicated to the landing of an aircraft including means of receiving navigation data, means of receiving a plurality of landing area monitoring information, and display means representing, by various symbols, the landing area and the monitoring information, including means of determining a plurality of successive approach phases constituting the landing procedure and of signalling the current approach phase, means of calculating a plurality of cartographic scale factors of the landing area, and means of selecting monitoring information to be displayed for each approach phase. The display means represent the landing area according to a changing cartographic scale factor and the selected monitoring information by symbols that also change, the cartographic scale factor and the symbols changing automatically according to the current approach phase.
