  • Patent number: 11965831
Abstract: Sub-diffraction limited fluorescent images using a fiber-based stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscope are reported. Both excitation and depletion beams are transported through polarization-maintaining fiber and a lateral resolution of 100 nm has been achieved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 1, 2019
Date of Patent: April 23, 2024
Assignee: The Regents of the University of Colorado, a Body Corporate
Inventors: Juliet T. Gopinath, Brendan M. Heffernan, Robert Niederriter, Stephanie A. Meyer, Diego Restrepo, Emily A. Gibson, Mark E. Siemens

  • Publication number: 20210179864
Abstract: The invention as disclosed herein includes a composition for increasing the fire resistance of a substrate. The composition is composed of a solvent; a polymer binder; a carbon-based flame retardant; a fire retardant compound, such as a phosphorous based flame retardant compound or a char forming flame retardant; a heat absorbing compound; and a phyllosilicate material. Also included are methods of reducing the flammability of a substrate or of increasing the fire resistance of a substrate by applying the composition of the invention, wherein the inflammability of the substrate is improved when compared to an identical substrate that is not coated with the composition. Fire resistant coatings prepared from the composition of the invention are disclosed. The assemblies described herein exhibit improved fire resistance as compared to an identical assembly that does not include the coating.

  • Publication number: 20140196136
Abstract: There is provided a system and method for providing access to a virtual object corresponding to a real object. There is provided a method comprising authenticating a user account for a networked application, confirming a validity of a user provided code, wherein the code is visible on the real object or on accompanying materials of the real object, and granting the user account access to the virtual object for use in the networked application in response to the confirming of the validity. As a result, users are enabled to enjoy interactions with real objects as well as corresponding virtual objects both in an offline video game context and in an online network application context.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 11, 2014
    Publication date: July 10, 2014
    Applicant: Disney Enterprises, Inc.
