Patent number: 11962552Abstract: An endpoint agent extension of a cyber defense system for email that includes modules and machine learning models. An integration module integrates with an email client application to detect email cyber threats in emails in the email client application as well as regulate emails. An action module interfaces with the email client application to direct autonomous actions against an outbound email and/or its files when a cyber threat module determines the email and/or its files (a) to be a data exfiltration threat, (b) to be both malicious and anomalous behavior as compared to a user's modeled email behavior, and (c) any combination of these. The autonomous actions can include actions of logging a user off the email client application, preventing the sending of the email, stripping the attached files and/or disabling the link to the files from the email, and sending a notification to cyber security personnel regarding the email.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Darktrace Holdings LimitedInventors: Stephen Pickman, Matthew Dunn

Patent number: 11962608Abstract: A cyber-threat defense system for a network including its email domain protects this network from cyber threats. Modules utilize machine learning models as well communicate with a cyber threat module. Modules analyze the wide range of metadata from the observed email communications. The cyber threat module analyzes with the machine learning models trained on a normal behavior of email activity and user activity associated with the network and in its email domain in order to determine when a deviation from the normal behavior of email activity and user activity is occurring. A mass email association detector determines a similarity between highly similar emails being i) sent from or ii) received by a collection of two or more individual users in the email domain in a substantially simultaneous time frame. Mathematical models can be used to determine similarity weighing in order to derive a similarity score between compared emails.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2022Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Darktrace Holdings LimitedInventors: Matthew Dunn, Matthew Ferguson, Stephen Pickman

Publication number: 20170175743Abstract: This invention provides a means to start an oil lubricated air cooled helium compressor at ambient air temperatures in the range from ?30° C. to 0° C. by heating the oil in the sump and opening one or more by-pass valves that allows oil to flow to the oil injection port of the compressor without passing through all of the after-cooler.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2015Publication date: June 22, 2017Applicant: Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc.Inventors: Stephen Dunn, Ralph C. Patent number: 9581360Abstract: An expansion engine operating on a Brayton cycle which is part of a system for producing refrigeration at cryogenic temperatures that includes a compressor, a counter-flow heat exchanger, and a load that may be remote, which is cooled by gas circulating from the engine. The engine has a piston in a cylinder which has nearly the same pressure above and below the piston while it is moving. Low pressure on a piston drive stem provides a force imbalance to move the piston towards the warm end.Type: GrantFiled: June 13, 2014Date of Patent: February 28, 2017Assignee: SUMITOMO (SHI) CRYOGENIC OF AMERICA, INC.Inventors: Stephen Dunn, Ralph Longsworth, John Borchers

Patent number: 8978400Abstract: This invention relates generally to oil lubricated helium compressor units for use in cryogenic refrigeration systems, operating on the Gifford McMahon (GM) cycle. The objective of this invention is to keep the oil separator and absorber, which are components in an oil lubricated, helium compressor, in an indoor air conditioned environment while rejecting at least 65% of the heat from the compressor outdoors during the summer. The balance of the heat is rejected to either the indoor air conditioned air, or cooling water. This is accomplished by circulating hot oil at high pressure to an outdoor air cooled heat exchanger and returning cooled oil to the compressor inlet, while hot high pressure helium is cooled in an air or water cooled heat exchanger in an indoor assembly that includes the compressor, an oil separator, an oil absorber, and other piping and control components. It is an option to reject the heat from the oil to the indoor space during the winter to save on the cost of heating the indoor space.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2010Date of Patent: March 17, 2015Assignee: Sumitomo (Shi) Cryogenics of America Inc.Inventors: Stephen Dunn, Ralph Longsworth

Patent number: 8857512Abstract: An in situ extraction process for the recovery of hydrocarbons from a hydrocarbon bearing formation, including the steps of injecting a solvent consisting substantially of one of the group of H2S, Ammonia or COS into the formation to mobilize the hydrocarbons for extraction by forming a mobile in situ extraction fluid; and lifting the extraction fluid containing the mobilized hydrocarbons from the underground formation to the surface. In a further aspect an extraction method for a specific reservoir is provided including the steps of: establishing a minimum desired extraction rate, based on a value for the porosity, permeability and dead oil viscosity of the in situ bitumen in the specific reservoir, determining a desired minimum operating extraction temperature determining a desirable range of operating pressures identifying solvents predicted to deliver the operating extraction temperature within the range of operating pressures, and selecting a preferred solvent to use in the process.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2008Date of Patent: October 14, 2014Assignee: N-Solv CorporationInventors: John Nenniger, Stephen Dunn

Patent number: 7674099Abstract: An oil lubricated compressor which includes a bypass oil line connecting respective oil paths upstream and downstream of the motor. The bypass oil path permits oil to be detoured around the motor in a tube that is external to the compressor shell and flows back into the shell near the scroll inlet. The oil bypass line returns “excess” oil directly to sump 28, rather than having it flow from sump 27 to sump 28 through an air-gap, thereby reducing both the drag on the motor and the input power.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2006Date of Patent: March 9, 2010Assignees: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., SHI-APD CRyogenics, Inc.Inventor: Stephen Dunn
