  • Publication number: 20240031808
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques and mechanisms for performing user defined network (UDN) service authorization based on secondary identity credentials within a wireless network. For instance, the techniques may include receiving, from a user device, a first request to access a wireless network (e.g., such as a WLAN), where the first request may include primary access credentials for accessing the WLAN. Once primary access authentication of the user device is complete, the techniques may include receiving a second request from the user device to access a UDN group within the wireless network. The second request can include secondary credentials for accessing the UDN group. In response to the second request, a secondary EAP dialogue may be established to authenticate the user device using the secondary credentials. Once the secondary credentials are authenticated, the techniques may include granting the user device access to the UDN group.

  • Publication number: 20230316360
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed to estimate maintenance work prices using map data. Embodiments include a computer-implemented method comprising receiving, at an application system a computing device associated with a customer, a request to register a property for landscaping services and determining based on address input received from the computing device associated with the customer, map data associated with the property. The method further comprises determining a service area associated with property based on the map data associated with the property and calculating a landscaping service price estimate based on the service area associated with the property. The method further comprises transmitting a job request including the landscaping service price estimate to a landscaping job queue and receiving, from a computing device associated with a landscaper, a confirmation to accept the job request.

  • Patent number: 9101130
Abstract: A deer tail decoy has a first triangular-shaped flap folded over a second flap. The inner faces of the first and second flaps comprise a material of a lighter color that contrasts with the outer faces of the first and second flaps. A tell-tale flap is integral with or joined to at least the inner face of the first flap. The decoy is removably mounted to an upright, such as a tree trunk. A pull cord is linked or removably joined at or near the pointed tip at the bottom of the first flap. Tugging motion on the pull cord causes the first flap to pivot upward to expose the inner faces of the first and second flaps and the tell-tale flap. In this open configuration, the deer tail decoy resembles the upward tail of a doe, and the tell-tale flap has loose edges that flutter and may be seen at angles offset from straight on view.

  • Patent number: 8578420
Abstract: A method apparatus for automated display video programming guide information includes filtering programming information using filtering rules to determine viewing events of interest to a user. The method and apparatus further includes displaying on a first screen portion, the viewing events in a chronological order based on a display time for each of the viewing events. The method and apparatus further includes displaying a selector in the first screen portion such that the selector is operative to select one of the viewing events and displaying on a second screen portion, event information relating to a selected one of the plurality viewing events when the selector is proximate to one of the viewing events. The method and apparatus further includes resolving a scheduling conflict between a first viewing event and second viewing event to generate a list of program guide information.

  • Publication number: 20090150823
Abstract: An apparatus is operative to output display data for displaying a first application window and a second application window, wherein each application window is associated with an active application. The apparatus attaches the first application window with a first grid section using a grid management system, and based on user input associated with the second application window, performs a grid-based operation, such as swapping, splitting, or sharing. A method is also described that includes one or more of a grid-based swapping operation, a grid-based splitting operation, and a gird-based sharing operation.

  • Publication number: 20070078842
Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for providing an output in response to a user reference query. A user reference query is received and an answer to the user reference query is determined. A unique entity identifier (EID) for the answer is determined and used to query a reference system to determine one or more reference elements, e.g. a reference summary, a picture, or a video, for example. The one or more reference elements and a text of the answer are provided to an output provider. The output provider combines the one or more reference elements and the answer text into a single output. In one exemplary configuration, the single output is a graphical user interface transmitted as an extensible markup language (XML) file, which integrates the answer text and the one or more reference elements.

  • Publication number: 20060161793
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for controlling power consumption of a plug-in card or circuit module. The disclosed method, in particular, controls power to a circuit module and includes implementing a user interface and power manager to automatically control the power state of the circuit module by, among other things, powering the module up or down using a simulated hot unplug of the device. The apparatus further includes use of an I/O interconnect to allow the system BIOS to simulate the hot unplugging of the module.

  • Publication number: 20060026627
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling display of content signals begins by receiving a content signal that includes video content and at least one associated content control indicator. The content signal may also include audio content associated with the video content. The processing continues by comparing the at least one associated content control indicator (e.g., a rating of mature subject matter of the content signal) with at least one content control setting (e.g., a parental setting based on allowable viewing of rated content signals). When the associated content indicator compares unfavorably to the content control setting, a video graphics processor scrambles the at least a portion of the video content. The scrambled video content is then provided to a video rendering device for subsequent display.

  • Publication number: 20050273815
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the display of electronic program guide information includes receiving a plurality of viewing event indicators indicating a plurality of viewing events. The viewing event indicators may be any suitable data representation of the corresponding viewing event, such as a multi-digit program identifier and a program title, such as the name of the television show. The method and apparatus further includes generating a first list of viewing event indicators based on a viewing start time and a second list of viewing event indicators from the first list of viewing event indicators based on the viewing events having common elements within the viewing event indicators. The method and apparatus further includes providing the second list to a display device so the electronic program guide information includes timely viewing event indicators and excludes redundant viewing event indicators.

  • Publication number: 20050099492
Abstract: Multimedia conferencing software and computing devices allow the appearance of a video image of a conference participant to be adjusted in dependence on a level of activity associated with the conference participant. In this way, video images of more active participants may be given greater prominence. An end-user participating in the conference may focus attention on the more active participants.

  • Patent number: 6760535
Abstract: An apparatus marks files within a content archive. The content archive contains a database that has a plurality of content files. The content archive also contains a plurality of entries or records. Each of the entries corresponds to a distinct one of the plurality of content files. Each of the entries also includes a played field that is automatically set when the corresponding content file has been played. The content archive also includes a writing module that is configured to record a new content file to the content archive and, if insufficient space is available, to overwrite a content file for which the played fields are set. According to one aspect, the plurality of entries also includes an entry corresponding to an overwritten content file previously contained within the database that is no longer contained within the database. The database may contain references to content no longer in the database.
