    Abstract: A distraction device for osteosynthesis includes a first member which is telescopically housed within a second member. The first and second members are attached to first and second bone segments, respectively. The device includes a ratchet wheel having teeth which engage teeth of the first member. Rotation of the ratchet wheel cause the first member to telescopically extend from its second member housing in an arcuate path.
