Publication number: 20250086158Abstract: A database management engine provides a user interface that allows users to access and modify employee information in a database. The database includes entries for employees, and each database entry includes identifying information about the associated employee. A user can request to modify data within database entries, for instance in order to update information associated with an employee. Responsive to the request, the database management engine identifies liabilities associated with the database modification stemming from associated tax laws. Based on the identified tax liabilities, the engine computes the aggregate tax liability owed by the employer and/or employee. Before modifying a database entry, the engine modifies the user interface to include interface elements detailing the computed aggregate tax liability. The user explicitly can be required to confirm the database modification in view of the aggregate tax liability.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2024Publication date: March 13, 2025Inventors: Michael Kelly Sutton, Stephen Walter Hopkins, Matthew Charles Wilde, Alexander Scott Gerstein, Julia Hara Chin Lee, Michael Ryan Nierstedt, Nicholas Giancarlo Gervasi, Matan Zruya, Robert Douglas Gill, JR., Bria Nicole Fincher, Ningjing Su, Ryan Kwong, Sheng Xiang Lei, Ketki Warudkar Duvvuru

Publication number: 20250078149Abstract: Various embodiments are directed to processing and executing digital asset transfers between two users. An example method includes receiving a data object defining a digital asset transfer, and the data object may be a query from the first user to initiate an outbound transfer to a second user or an approval of a request for digital asset units from the second user. The method further includes retrieving account balance data objects associated with the digital asset accounts for the first and second users. The method further includes, responsive to determining that the digital asset transfer satisfies one or more transfer conditions, executing the digital asset transfer by executing a closed-loop debit from the first user and executing a closed-loop credit to the second user. The method further includes updating the account balance data object to reflect the resulting balances of each digital asset account.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2024Publication date: March 6, 2025Inventors: Nicolas Frederic CABRERA, Jeffrey Scott PITTELKAU, Nikolais LINSTEADT, Joseph Arthur REVNES, Brian Daniel COOPER, William MATTHAU, Christopher Michael PETERSEN, Yamini Bistesh SAGAR, Utkarsh AGARWAL, Tim KUCHLEIN, Bharath LAKSHMANAN, William Andrew BRYANT, Stephen Paul SAUCIER, Deepak KUMAR, Anil JAISWAL, Byungkwon JEON, Balaji DEVARASETTY

Patent number: 12243313Abstract: Virtual sensor technology, in which a camera is controlled to capture at least one configuration image of an area monitored by a monitoring system and input is received that defines one or more characteristics of the at least one configuration image that enable sensing of an event in the area. Based on the received input, configuration data used in sensing the event is generated and stored. After storage of the configuration data, the camera is controlled to capture one or more images of the area, the one or more images are analyzed based on the configuration data, and occurrence of the event is detected based on the analysis of the one or more images. Based on detecting occurrence of the event, a transmitting device is controlled to send, to a controller of the monitoring system, a signal that indicates the detection of the occurrence of the event.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2022Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: Alarm.com IncorporatedInventor: Stephen Scott Trundle

Patent number: 12225040Abstract: Techniques for identifying and managing an organization's remote attack surface that account for the fluid nature of the remote attack surface are described. Data collected from organization-issued endpoint devices are obtained and analyzed to determine public IP addresses used by the endpoint devices. The devices connected to external networks (i.e., non-organization networks) at various time windows are identified by distinguishing between public IP addresses that are associated with the organization and those that are not. Data obtained from ongoing global probing of public IP addresses, which at least indicate software instances hosted on networks corresponding to the public IP address, are correlated with each public IP address determined to be associated with an external network to which an endpoint device has connected. From these data, any security risks that connections to external networks may pose to the organization's network can be identified.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2022Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: Palo Alto Networks, Inc.Inventors: Matthew Stephen Kraning, Corey James Fredericks, Andrew Clayton Scott, Peter Thomas Dickinson

Publication number: 20250047475Abstract: Global topics in distributed ledgers are disclosed. A distributed ledger is configured with a global topic whose identifier is publicized and well known. The global topic stores information about trust providers including topic identifiers and smart contract identifiers. Requestors can query the global topic to retrieve the information of specific trust providers. Once the information of the specific trust providers is known, the requestors can publish or write annotations and transactions to the distributed ledger. By associating the entries in the global topic with timestamps, requestors can reconfigure themselves automatically with updated trust provider information whenever a write to the distributed ledger fails.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventors: Stephen J. Todd, Trevor Scott Conn, Ahmed Khalid, Mustafa Al-Bado

Publication number: 20250045713Abstract: Invoking smart contracts in data confidence fabrics is disclosed. Trust functions are applied to data that is ingested into and/or flowing in a data confidence fabric. When a trust function is applied, a smart contract is invoked. The smart contract is configured to publish annotations to a distributed ledger that reflect the confidence information added by the trust function and to perform payment as a service such that the trust provider is paid. Publishing the annotations to a distributed ledger may be coupled or uncoupled to performing payment as a service.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventors: Stephen J. Publication number: 20250047758Abstract: A proxy or sidecar configured to connect an application to a data confidence fabric is discloses. The sidecar is configured to perform functions related to the transmission of data. As the sidecar intercepts communications to/from an associated application, the sidecar determines which of several functions to perform related to the transmission of data. In addition, the sidecar ensures that data confidence related operations and trust functions, as specified by the application, are applied to the data. Further, the sidecar identifies lineage when data is changed by an application.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventors: Stephen J.
