    Abstract: A continuous process for the production of dichlorohydrin by the reaction of chlorine, water and allyl chloride, having reduced water consumption wherein the dichlorohydrin formed is extracted into an inert organic solvent and the remaining aqueous reaction product is subjected to reverse osmosis, and at least a portion of the resulting permeate is recycled to the reaction.
