Abstract: Described embodiments include a therapeutic oxygen supply apparatus. The apparatus includes at least two components, including an intake manifold component configured to receive concentrated oxygen, a compressor component configured to compress concentrated oxygen, an oxygen tank component configured to store concentrated oxygen, a patient manifold component configured to supply concentrated oxygen, or a control structure component configured to route a flow of concentrated oxygen. A sensor circuit acquires data indicative of a respective operational state of the at least two components. A rule-based engine selects a next operational state of a component in response to (i) the acquired data indicative of the respective operational states of the at least two components and (ii) a rule database having at least one rule responsive to an objective providing a therapeutic flow of oxygen to the patient. A configuration manager circuit generates a control signal implementing the selected next operational state.

  • Patent number: 10088736
Abstract: Described are systems and methods for surveying a destination as an unmanned aerial vehicle (“UAV”) descends toward the destination. To confirm that the destination is clear of objects and includes a safe landing or delivery location, such as a substantially planar surface, the UAV may capture and process images at different altitudes during the descent. Feature points of a first image captured at a first altitude may be paired with feature points of a second image captured at a second, different altitude. A homography may be computed to confirm that the paired feature points lie in the same plane and then the two images may be registered based on the paired feature points. The registered images may then be processed to determine depth information and determine if descent of the UAV is to continue or be aborted.

  • Patent number: 10046137
Abstract: A method for insertion, maintenance, and removal of urethral catheters in mammals including humans includes steps for preventing or reducing the incidence of catheter associated urinary tract infections. In addition to sterile procedures currently practiced or as may be practiced in the future in connection with catheter use, the method includes the steps of applying an antiseptic, zwitterionic, and acidic skincare solution capable of preserving the stratum corneum to the perineum, meatus, and contiguous mucosa surrounding the insertion site before insertion, after insertion, periodically during the period of indwelling, in connection with any incidence of incontinence, and, optionally, before and after removal of the catheter. Application of the solution optionally is continued after catheter removal on a periodic basis until the threat of an infection associated with catheter use has passed, typically at least about five (5) to seven (7) days and up to thirty (30) days.

  • Publication number: 20180205803
Abstract: Cloud-aware industrial devices feed robust sets of data to a cloud-based data analyzer that executes as a service in a cloud platform. In addition to industrial data generated or collected by the industrial devices, the devices can provide device profile information to the cloud-based analyzer that identifies the device and relevant configuration information. The industrial devices can also provide customer data identifying an owner of the industrial devices, contact information for the owner, active service contracts, etc. The cloud-based data analyzer leverages this information to perform a variety of custom analytics on the data and generate reports or notifications catered to the particular industrial assets' optimal performance and business goals of the owner's industrial enterprise, as well as perform real-time decision making and control.

  • Patent number: 10026049
Abstract: A cloud-based risk assessment service collects industrial data from multiple relevant and connected sources for storage and analysis on a cloud platform. The service analyzes gathered data from internal and external sources and customers across different industries to identify operational trends as a function of industry type, application type, equipment in use, device configurations, and other such variables. Based on the analysis, the risk assessment service identifies risk factors inherent in a customer's particular industrial enterprise. The cloud-based system generates a risk profile for the customer that identifies the determined risks and recommends risk aversion strategies based on the customer's specific profile, compared to industry standards, product information, internal business expectations, external regulatory bodies, and/or past performance.
