  • Publication number: 20190050289
Abstract: A system and method for distributed erasure coding. A plurality of storage devices is directly connected to one or more host computers, without an intervening central controller distributing data to the storage devices and providing data protection. Parity codes are stored in one or more dedicated storage devices or distributed over a plurality of the storage devices. When a storage device receives a write command, it calculates a partial parity code, and, if the parity code for the data being written is on another storage device, sends the partial parity code to the other storage device, which updates the parity code using the partial parity code.

  • Publication number: 20190046336
Abstract: A prosthetic ankle has an ankle joint body (10A) constituting a shin component and a foot component (12). The ankle joint body (10A) is pivotally connected to the foot component (12) by a first pivotal connection (14) defining a medial-lateral ankle joint flexion axis. The ankle joint body (10A) also forms the cylinder of an ankle joint piston and cylinder assembly with a superior-inferior central axis, the cylinder housing a piston (16) with upper and lower piston rods (16A, 16B). The lower piston rod (16B) is pivotally connected to the foot component (12) at a second pivotal connection (18). As the ankle joint body (10A) pivots about the ankle joint flexion axis, the piston (16) moves substantially linearly in the cylinder formed by the ankle joint body. • Publication number: 20190049201
Abstract: A weapon for firing cased telescoped (CT) ammunition includes a barrel, a chamber member and a carrier assembly. The chamber member defines a chamber for a CT round for firing, and translates between a firing position aligned with the barrel and an ejection/loading position. The chamber member is spring-biased toward the firing position. The carrier assembly carries the firing pin and (1) performs a recoil in which a carrier and rammer move rearward from a battery position to bring the next CT round into a ramming position and to move the chamber member from the firing position to the ejection/loading position, and (2) performs a counter-recoil to return to the battery position and cause the rammer to push the next CT round into the chamber. The chamber member is released for biased return to the firing position for a next firing cycle.

  • Publication number: 20190046998
Abstract: The botanical extraction and purification device described in this patent provide the ability to extract and purify botanical compounds from a diverse plant species through specially crafted process sequences that effectively reach the desired botanical component despite differences in botanical material types and unique differences in organic chemical characteristics. The technological package consists of two main processing centers; each is a combination of process features that can be personalized to effectively address unique extraction requirements. When combined, the extraction processes deliver capabilities in product throughput speed and product purity not available using previously available separation methods. The first component of this package is a CUP that transfers chemical compounds from botanical material into a solvent. The second component is an AISP. This device separates unwanted botanical compounds from the solvent, resulting in a relatively pure plant extract.
