    Abstract: Mating sets of forming punches and dies having different combined working heights are mounted at multiple work stations in a single press brake by means of a variable height forming punch holder. The punch holder has a pair of mating step wedges that are adjustable to increase a working height of a mounted forming punch so that each mating set of forming punches and dies has an equal combined working height. This avoids custom tooling while allowing a sequence of forming operations to occur at multiple work stations without driving tools into contact with each other.
