  • Patent number: 6880906
Abstract: A method for determining percentages of colors needed to obtain a mixed color is described. The method includes: determining a difference between an expected function and a measured function of a color resulting from mixing a first and second colors; and utilizing the difference to determine percentages of the first and second colors needed for creating the color.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 29, 2002
Date of Patent: April 19, 2005
Assignee: Konica Minolta Technology Center, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4753503
Abstract: A system for reproducing a raster scanned line of an image on a photoconductive surface of a drum comprising a monochromatic light source, a rotating holographic disk containing a plurality of diffraction gratings therein, and means for reflecting said monochromatic light beam so as to direct the monochromatic light beam to and along a selected straight line on the photoconductive surface of the drum. The means for reflecting the monochromatic light beam comprises an elliptic reflecting surface, a first mirror for reflecting the monochromatic light beam passed through the scanning disk to said elliptic reflecting surface, and a second mirror for receiving the monochromatic light beam reflected from the elliptical reflecting surface and for directing the reflected light beam onto a selected straight line on the photoconductive surface of the drum. The elliptic reflecting surface can, with little loss in accuracy, be replaced by a cylindrical surface.

  • Patent number: 4124286
Abstract: A method and apparatus for xerographically printing a composite record based on first and second complementary sources of information. The first source of information is imaged onto a photoconductive medium having the property of persistent conductivity to form a conductive image representative thereof. The conductive image is then transferred onto a second photoconductive medium in the form of a latent electrostatic image. The second, complementary source of information is imaged onto the second photoconductive medium, preferably by a scanning laser, as an overlay on the image of the first source. The composite electrostatic image so formed is then developed by the application of toner material and transferred onto a record medium.

  • Patent number: 4038916
Abstract: An apparatus for forming solid character charge patterns on a dielectric surface in a non-impact printing system. The apparatus comprises a corona source of ions and a rotatable stencil drum surrounding the corona source to shape the ions generated by the corona source and accelerated therefrom by electrostatic forces into solid patterns of charge. A coaxial stationary shield is provided surrounding the stencil drum to capture the solid patterns of charge. A series of grid covered openings are longitudinally disposed along the shield to form a print station. Means are provided to electrically bias the individual grids covering the openings in the shield at a potential which either blocks the passage or enhances the transmission of patterns of charge through the shield onto an adjacent dielectric surface.
