  • Publication number: 20240399377
Abstract: An automated, large-scale, energy-efficient biological material storage and retrieval system stores large quantities of samples in trays. The system includes a heat exchanger to capture and recycle residual energy, a movable wall, a storage compartment, a multi-tray shuttle compartment with shuttle, a plenum to maintain air temperature between compartments and along the sections within the storage compartment, a mechanism to open and close dividers between compartments, and a tray connector to release or attach one or more trays within a compartment configured to minimize energy loss during operation.

  • Publication number: 20240361464
Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system for a vehicle, includes a laser source configured to generate light signals, a transceiver, and a fiber array coupled to the transceiver and including a plurality of output channels. The transceiver is configured to receive one or more light signals from the laser source through a first group of output channels of the fiber array, receive one or more local oscillator (LO) signals through a second group of output channels of the fiber array, transmit the one or more light signals into an environment of the vehicle, receive a first returned light reflected from one or more objects in the environment, and output the first returned light and a first LO signal of the one or more LO signals.

  • Publication number: 20240308548
Abstract: A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system for a vehicle, includes a laser source configured to output a beam, a transmitter, a receiver, one or more optics and a processor. The transmitter is configured to transmit a transmit signal that is generated based on the beam. The receiver is configured to receive a return signal reflected by an object in response to the transmit signal. The one or more optics are configured to generate a first signal and a second signal based on the return signal, wherein the first signal and the second signal have different polarizations. The processor is configured to determine a type of the object by processing a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) value of the first signal and a SNR value of the second signal.

  • Publication number: 20110230317
Abstract: A weight container, which includes an adjustable calibrating bellow including two outer ribs and at least one inner rib; wherein the outer ribs may collapse and fold around the inner rib; a locking apparatus located adjacent to one outer rib; and a cover receiving apparatus located adjacent to the other outer rib. Further, a pair of weight containers may be connected to a crossbar to define an exercise apparatus. The weight container may further be adapted to engage a base to define a drinking apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6758795
Abstract: A readily portable dumbell or barbell for exercising and weight training is provided in which weight units on an elongated handle comprise front and rear end plates interconnected by a collapsible/expandible fluid receptacle in the form of a resilient bellows. The weight unit is lengthened and expanded when fluid is added and is shortened and decreased in volume when fluid is removed. Calibration means are provided for visually indicating the weight of the unit corresponding to the longitudinal spacing between the front and end plates of the unit. In a preferred embodiment, a visually readable measurement of weight is provided by means for a graduated bar insert which extends slidably within the hollow handle of the dumbell or barbell and moves therealong with expansion or contraction of the water-filled bellows.
