Patent number: 11975417Abstract: A tool for chamfering cleaved tips of optical fibers. The tool including conical bores of relatively smooth and hard material terminate at a cylindrical bore that is slightly larger than the fiber core maximum diameter and a fiber centering bore that is slightly larger than the fiber coating maximum diameter. The tool provided such that when a cleaved fiber tip is inserted into the centering bore the sharp edge falls upon the chamfering surface that, when rotated relative to the fiber, gently grinds the edge to the chamfer angle. Chamfering cannot occur on the core face due to the absence of tool surface at this dimension.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2021Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: CYCLONE BIOSCIENCES, LLCInventors: Stephen E. Publication number: 20240082039Abstract: An adjustable over corrective therapeutic scoliosis brace configured to facilitate the correction of spinal curvature during a treatment period of a patient is provided. In some embodiments, the scoliosis brace comprises an external shell and one or more periodically adjustable modular internal pads systems. The one or more internal pad systems can be selectively moved and fixedly positioned in a plurality of positions along at least one of the lateral direction or the vertical direction within the external shell, wherein the plurality of positions are designed for periodic adjustment of the corrective force on the spinal curvature during the treatment period.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventor: Stephen Barr

Publication number: 20220409417Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjustable scoliosis correction brace that presents a novel structure of scoliosis correction brace with multiple inflatable airbags and are placed at multiple places. These bags can be inflated with air to presses against that curve where the air can be measured with an air gauge attached to the pump which will measure the amount of pressure being applied and trains the spine to return to a straighter portion, reducing the scoliotic curve. Once required to be deflated the air pressure hose can be removed and the brace worn as a normal brace would be worn.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2021Publication date: December 29, 2022Inventor: Stephen Barr

Patent number: 7350026Abstract: A cross compare solution running in a multiprocessor configuration, using a multi-port RAM with built-in logic. This provides for a fast and simple data cross compare medium. The multi-port RAM unit can be plugged into the motherboard of the main processor unit, requiring no external hardware or wiring. A method and a system for cross compare has a first layer of buffers with a first storage area for storing information from the first processor and a second storage area for storing information from the second processor, and a second layer of buffers with a third and fourth storage areas, where each storage area stores information from the first and second storage areas. The first, second, third, and fourth storage areas have one or more buffers allocated only for its respective storage area.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2004Date of Patent: March 25, 2008Assignee: ThalesInventors: Mario Popescu, Stephen Barr, Alexander Trica

Publication number: 20070095621Abstract: An adjustable fluid cooled brake is provided that integrates the driven shaft and bearings with braking components to form a packaged assembly. The brake includes a driven shaft and two bearings disposed about the driven shaft. The brake further includes a housing disposed about the shaft and friction plates coupled to the housing and driven shaft. One end cap assembly of the brake is coupled to the housing and supports one of the bearings. The end cap assembly includes a pressure plate configured to compress the friction plates. Another end cap assembly is coupled to the housing and supports the other bearing. One of end cap assemblies is spaced from the housing by a spacer that may be adjusted to enable axial movement of the end cap assembly relative to the housing and the corresponding bearing thereby permitting adjustment of the brake.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Richard McConkie, Brenton Bluhm, Fergus Hopwood, Stephen Barr
