  • Patent number: 7658224
Abstract: A heat exchanger including a plate pair having first and second plates each having an outward depression extending to a peripheral edge thereof, the first and second plates defining a fluid channel therebetween and secured to one another with the outward depressions defining a flow opening in communication with the fluid channel. An outer flange extends substantially around a periphery of the flow opening. A tubular fitting with a first end and an outer surface having an annular flange thereon spaced apart from the first end is secured to the plate pair with the first end received within the flow opening and the annular flange abutting against the outer flange.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 19, 2005
Date of Patent: February 9, 2010
    Assignee: Dana Canada Corporation

  • Publication number: 20060243431
Abstract: Low profile heat exchanger including a fin plate having opposite facing first and second sides and including a plurality of spaced apart elongate fins that extend outward from the first side and define a plurality of elongate passages that are open facing on the second side, and a flat container having spaced apart cover and shim plates sealably joined about peripheral edges thereof and defining a fluid conducting chamber, the container having an inlet opening and an outlet opening in communication with the fluid conducting chamber to permit a fluid to pass into, through, and out of the fluid conducting chamber, wherein the first side of the fin plate is mounted to the shim plate to permit thermal transfer therebetween and the second side of the fin plate is exposed.

  • Patent number: 6889758
Abstract: A stacked plate heat exchanger including a plurality of stacked plate pairs, each plate pair including first and second plates having elongate central portions surrounded by sealably joined edge portions with an elongate fluid passage defined between the central portions. Each plate pair has spaced apart inlet and outlet openings in flow communication with the fluid passage, at least some of the plate pairs having a substantially planar air-side fin plate extending peripherally outward from the joined edge portions, the fin plates of the stacked plate pairs being spaced apart and substantially parallel to each other. The fluid passage may be arranged at an angle relative to air flow direction.
