  • Publication number: 20070092706
Abstract: The invention describes a polymeric sheet that has at least one layer that comprises an ionomer or ionomer blend that incorporates a partially neutralized alpha, beta-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid component and is useful in glass laminate applications. The ionomer or ionomer blend contains one or more monovalent metal ions in an amount ranging from about 1 to about 60%, preferably about 10 to about 55%, and more preferably about 15 to about 50%, and one or more polyvalent metal ions in an amount ranging from about 40 to about 99%, preferably about 45 to about 90%, and more preferably about 50 to about 85%. This ratio range of monovalent and polyvalent metal neutralization ions provides synergistically greater adhesion to glass than found for either the monovalent or the polyvalent metal neutralization ions alone.

  • Publication number: 20070051003
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the bore diameter of a hole as a function of hole depth is disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a diametric probe, for generating first measured bore diameter data along a diametric probe sensitive axis; a foot, for positioning the diametric probe sensitive axis in a plane parallel to the hole; a linear distance probe, coupled to the diametric probe, for generating first measured depth data describing the depth of the diametric probe sensitive axis within the hole; and a data acquisition system, for recording first measured bore diameter data from the diametric probe and first measured depth data from the linear distance probe of an insertion of the diametric probe into the hole.

  • Publication number: 20060182983
Abstract: The present invention is an improved polymeric resin composition comprising or consisting essentially of from about 70 wt % to about 79 wt % units derived from ethylene and from about 21 wt % to about 30 wt % units derived from an ?,?-unsaturated carboxylic acid having from 3 to 8 carbons. Resins of the present invention are particularly suitable for preparing transparent laminates useful as glazing elements that provide a greater measure of safety than non-laminated glazing elements. Laminates of the present invention have 3% haze or less without the addition of amines.

  • Publication number: 20060023223
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for scanning conoscopic holography measurements are disclosed. In one embodiment, a system includes a conoscopic holography sensor, a beam directing assembly, and a control assembly. The beam directing assembly is adapted to adjustably direct a laser beam from the sensor toward the workpiece, and to direct a reflected light from the workpiece into the sensor. The control assembly controllably adjusts a direction of the laser beam into a desired position on the workpiece. In one particular embodiment, the beam directing assembly includes first and second mirrors coupled to first and second galvanometers for controllably directing the laser beam along first and second axes, respectively. Alternately, the system includes a calibration assembly having a three axis stage for performing calibrations of the laser beam location.
