  • Patent number: 6003300
Abstract: This invention relates to a fueling process that allows complete combustion with air in the combustor of an aircraft traveling at a speed greater than the speed of sound. A process is described to inject a jet of solid hydrogen particles admixed in liquid helium through the combustor wall to achieve extremely rapid mixing of hydrogen throughout the supersonic airstream of the combustor of a high speed vehicle. Mixing on a molecular scale is so rapid that complete and efficient combustion occurs within the combustor.

  • Patent number: 5216981
Abstract: An aerodynamically cleaned heat-exchanger is used in heating apparatus in which the radiant energy of a dirty fuel, such as coal or char, is efficiently recovered while the exposed heat-exchange components are protected from the deleterious combustion products.
