  • Publication number: 20090164372
Abstract: A method is provided of operating a self-service check depositing terminal. The method comprises the steps of receiving a user identification (ID) card from a depositor at the self-service check depositing terminal, reading ID data from the user ID card, sending the ID data to a consolidation server of a first financial institution to allow the first financial institution to process the ID data, and receiving from the first financial institution a first message containing a first Uniform Resource Locator (URL) which (i) is associated with a consolidation server of a second financial institution which is different from the first financial institution and (ii) is based upon the ID data which has been processed at the first financial institution.

  • Publication number: 20090018960
Abstract: A method is provided of operating a remote check image capture system. The method comprises scanning a batch of checks to provide a stream of captured check images, locally storing the captured check images, and transmitting the captured check images to a bank server while other checks are being scanned to enable a human operator to begin balancing checks without having to wait until all checks of the batch of checks have been scanned.

  • Publication number: 20030009492
Abstract: A method of operating a document processing system having at least one executable transport application program, a document transport path along which documents can be transported, and a number of hardware devices disposed along the document transport path for processing documents moving along the document transport path in accordance with execution of the transport application program, comprises the steps of (a) processing a document at each hardware device as the document moves past the respective device, (b) at each hardware device storing a respective status signal after the document has been processed by the particular hardware device, (c) suspending execution of the transport application program when an exception condition occurs, and (d) continuing execution of the transport application program to continue processing the document based upon the last stored status signal for the particular document.

  • Publication number: 20020179501
Abstract: A method of processing document items in a document processing system comprises the steps of (a) sorting document items into a predetermined plurality of physical pockets during a sorting pass of a radix sort, (b) partitioning a first plurality of the predetermined plurality of physical pockets to define a first logical pocket during the sorting pass of the radix sort, and (c) sorting certain document items into the first plurality of physical pockets defined in step (b). The method may further comprise the steps of (d) partitioning a second plurality of the predetermined plurality of physical pockets to define a second logical pocket during the sorting pass of the radix sort, and (e) sorting certain other document items into the second plurality of physical pockets defined in step (d). The sorting pass of the radix sort may be the last sorting pass.

  • Patent number: 6438433
Abstract: A financial document processing system comprises a memory for storing (i) an executable transport application program, and (ii) a transport configuration set of parameters which is representative of at least a first device type and a second device type which is different from the first device type. A document processing transport has a document transport path along which documents can be transported and at least one device disposed along the document transport path for processing a document moving along the document transport path. A controller controls operation of the document processing transport in accordance with execution of the transport application program based upon the transport configuration set of parameters. The document processing transport is controllable by the controller independent of whether the at least one device disposed along the document transport path is of the first device type or the second device type.
