  • Patent number: 9421833
Abstract: A reinforced valve stem has two perpendicular tubes, a first tube generally inwardly of a rim and a second tube outwardly and perpendicular to a rim of a wheel. The first tube receives a valve stem and has a threaded inlet for connection to an air source. The second tube threadily connects to the first tube opposite the valve and has an internal smooth passage for providing air into a tire mounted upon a rim. The second tube has a threaded outlet that receives an umbrella nut. The second tube also has an exterior wedge and a truncated conical heel spaced slight above the wedge. The conical heel merges into a shoulder that rotates through the merge of the two tubes to a neck just before the inlet.

  • Patent number: 8739625
Abstract: A manual device, for use in a stand, provides a threaded rod with two opposed cones coaxial upon the rod. The cones have wider bases located outwardly from the center of the rod and narrow tops located inwardly. Threaded holes centered in the tops of the cones admit the rod. In use, a wheel is placed upon the rod and the cones are turned towards the wheel, points toward the wheel. As the cones engage the wheel, the angled surface of each cone guides the wheel to be centered upon the rod. For open hubs, one cone is reversed so the base contacts the wheel while the top of the other enters the wheel hub and the base. When finger tight, the cones secure the wheel to the rod without marring for spinning and balancing on an axis coaxial with the rod.

  • Patent number: 8567729
Abstract: A locking mechanism provides a base connected to a column. The base, generally square, receives the round column. The base has feet and an opposite lower plate. Within one foot, a pedal extends into the base and engages the column to raise it. Upwardly from the lower plate, the column has an upper plate, a side plate outwardly from the upper plate, and a plurality of bolts secured through the pattern of apertures in the two plates. The side plate has an aperture that receives a stem that has a handle upon one end and a tab upon the opposite end. Turning of the handle places the tab beneath the lower plate, locking the column to the base while turning the handle in the opposite direction moves the tab away from the lower plate so that the column may elevate.

  • Patent number: 7509988
Abstract: A manual device, for use in tire changing without power equipment, provides a frame with two gripping wheels that engage the rim of a wheel. The frame adjusts in a direction along a radius of a wheel. The adjustable frame allows the present invention to grip wheels of various diameters in a dogging pattern on a stand or rack. The wheels are non-marring and have a perimeter groove that allows a rim to partially seat within the wheel for a firm grip of the frame in a clamping action with other frames of the present invention. Three of the present invention, operated simultaneously, secure a rim of a wheel to a stand or rack without marring the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20080223529
Abstract: A manual device, for use in tire changing without power equipment, provides an angled lever with a non-marring head. The head grips the rim of a wheel and allows rotation of the lever upon the rim without marring the wheel. The mounting lever has a non-marring head connected to a flat bar of a length to manually manipulate a tire bead onto and off a rim. The non-marring head has a channel to grip the rim and a leading portion curved to guide the bead over and onto the rim. The flat bar of the mounting lever has an offset angle from the head to aid a worker in grasping the mounting lever during usage with less of a risk of injury to the knuckles.

  • Patent number: 7334623
Abstract: A manual tool has a handle with two opposite ends that mount and demount a tire from a wheel. The first end has a rounded rectangular head for inserting between the bead and rim, when demounting a tire from a wheel. The second end is at an angle to the first end and has two spaced apart and parallel round heads that also insert between the rim and the bead, for mounting a tire. The tool, when either end is engaged between a bead and a wheel, is rotated about the axis of the wheel to mount or to demount a tire. The first end and the second end are made of a material of lesser hardness than a wheel thus preventing marring of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 7159633
Abstract: A wheel clamping assembly provides a frame having three arms, two fixed stops and a turnable cam. The arms are equally spaced and have holes to admit the stops and the cam. The stops have an extension eccentrically located upon the top of the cylinder. Then the cam has an involute, having an expanding radius, upon the top of the cam. In use, the stops are placed upon two arms and the cam is placed upon the remaining arm, all at the same radius. A wheel rim is positioned upon the stops and the cam. The cam is then turned to grasp the wheel. The stops and the cam are made of a non-marring material.
