  • Patent number: 4297972
Abstract: An apparatus which develops a latent image by transporting a conductive developer material comprising marking particles into contact therewith successive times. During the first contact time, the conductivity of the developer material optimizes development of solid areas within the latent image with marking particles. The last contact time occurs with a developer material having a lower conductivity than the development material employed during the first contact time. In this way, development of lines within the latent image with marking particles is optimized during this latter contact time.

  • Patent number: 4284656
Abstract: A high protein, low fat foodstuff which is comprised of a protein curd product and the process for its preparation are described. The protein curd product is prepared under carefully controlled process conditions. It is light in color, bland in flavor and has an elastic body which provides a smooth texture, tender and rich mouth feel. These properties render it extremely suitable as a supplement to or substitute for a meat, cheese, egg or other type of foodstuff. The process for preparing the protein curd product of this invention includes extracting protein from a defatted soy bean material such as a defatted soy bean flake with water. After an aqueous protein extract containing at least 2.0 weight percent protein is separated from the residual defatted soy bean material, protein is coagulated from the aqueous extract to produce a protein curd product and a whey. The coagulation is accomplished by adjusting the pH to within the range from about 5.4 to about 8.

  • Patent number: 4042415
Abstract: Surfaces are cleaned of liquid developer by a blade having a configuration which deflects material away from the surface undergoing cleaning while it cleans the surface as a scraper blade. The blade provides a scraper function in addition to conveying the liquid developer cleaned from the surface to a retention reservoir.

  • Patent number: 3977898
Abstract: Method for cleaning liquid developer from upwardly moving support surfaces, such as reuable surfaces used for carrying latent electrostatic images. Surfaces are cleaned by a wiper blade and at least one scraper blade adapted to engage the support surface. The wiper blade acts upon the support surface upstream of the scraper blade.

  • Patent number: 3940282
Abstract: Liquid developer is removed from support surfaces, such as reusable surfaces used for carrying latent electrostatic images, by blades with relative motion between the surface and the blades. Spreading of the liquid developer upon the cleaned portion of the surface during rest periods is prevented by reversing the relative motion between blade and surface and moving the blade away from the surface before each rest period.
