In the calcium hydroxide composition, about 90% percent of the calcium hydroxide particles are less than or equal to about 10 microns; the ratio of 90% of the calcium hydroxide particles below a specified size to the ratio of 10% of the calcium hydroxide particles above a specified size is less than about 8; and the calcium hydroxide particles have a BET surface area of about 18 m2/g or greater.
