Patent number: 12254136Abstract: Broadly speaking, embodiments of the present techniques provide haptic button assemblies in which the haptic button has a low profile while still providing a satisfying tactile response or sensation to a user. Advantageously, the haptic button assemblies may have a profile that, for example, enables the assembly to be incorporated into the free space along an edge of a portable computing device. The haptic assemblies may, for example, be arranged to move the button perpendicularly with respect to the edge of the device.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2023Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: CAMBRIDGE MECHATRONICS LIMITEDInventors: David Kuan Wei Ooi, Peter Van Wyk, Joshua Carr, Thomas James Powell, Marc-Sebastian Scholz, Andreas Flouris, Andrew Benjamin Simpson Brown, Stephen Matthew Bunting, Dominic George Webber, James Howarth

Patent number: 10072748Abstract: A differential assembly arrangement with optimized pinion shaft bearing lubrication is provided. The assembly includes a housing, a ring gear, a pinion gear, a pinion shaft supported by two rolling element bearings, a sleeve, and a lubrication deflector. The two rolling element bearings, a pinion head bearing bearing and a pinion tail bearing, are located at each end of the sleeve which fits over the pinion shaft. The sleeve helps facilitate the application of a pre-load to the bearings. The lubrication deflector is located along the length of the sleeve for providing the correct amount of lubricant to the two bearings. The deflector is in the form of a ring located on the sleeve or integrated within the sleeve.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2016Date of Patent: September 11, 2018Assignee: SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES AG & CO. Patent number: 10006501Abstract: A clutch actuation device includes two plates that can selectively extend and compress relative to one another to selectively engage or disengage a clutch. Each plate includes a plurality of grooves, each groove having a deep end portion, a shallow end portion, and a ramped or inclined surface between the end portions. Each groove on the first plate corresponds with a respective groove on the second plate to define a plurality of pockets. Within each pocket is an elongated member having a pair of curved ends and an elongated shaft therebetween. The curved ends sit in the deep end portions of the grooves. To extend the plates relative to one another, the first plate is rotated relative to the second plate. This causes the curved ends of the elongated members to pivot within the deep end portions, and the elongated shaft extends away from the ramped surface, separating the plates.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2015Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES AG & CO. KGInventor: Stephen Carr

Patent number: 9822869Abstract: A shaft oil flow controller arrangement for pinion shaft bearings in a differential is provided, including a housing along with a pinion shaft supported therein by head and tail bearings. A ring gear is mounted for rotation and is engaged with a pinion gear. A bearing spacer is located on the pinion shaft between the head and tail bearings. A diverter is located on the bearing spacer, and includes a circumferentially extending diverter wall that is moveable from a first position in which the wall extends generally in a longitudinal direction of the pinion shaft at a first, lower rotational speed of the pinion shaft allowing a first volume of lubricant oil flow to the head bearing, to a second position, in which the wall extends radially outwardly at a second, higher rotational speed, to restrict lubricant oil flow to the head bearing to a lower volume, and increase oil flow to the tail bearing.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 2016Date of Patent: November 21, 2017Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Patent number: 9576051Abstract: Various embodiments relate to a system and related method for scanning active instances of an application within a system. Unique identifiers in the form of fingerprints, tags, or metadata can be associated with a target application. A manager can then scan the process tables and file system directories of the servers within the system to find active processes and stored files that include the unique identifier. In some embodiments, the manager scans the active processes while they are running to search for the unique ID within the process' command line structure. In some embodiments, the manager also finds processes or files that do not have the unique identifier, but were previously associated with the unique identifier. The manager can then report the server and application information to user. Such information can include which of the one or more servers has the target application as an active process.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2012Date of Patent: February 21, 2017Assignee: FMR LLCInventors: Stephen A.
