Publication number: 20250128270Abstract: A filter for filter air for an internal combustion engine and methods of operation are described herein. The air precleaner is configured to use electrostatic attraction or repulsion to move ionized particles towards an inner wall of the air precleaner, where the particles eventually exit the air precleaner through a particle exhaust. The particles are ionized using a positive charge plate and a negative charge plate. The positive charge plate creates a positive charge field, creating positive ions that ionize particles in the air with a positive charge. The negative charge plate creates a negative charge field, creating negative ions that ionize particles in the air with a negative charge. The air precleaner can also include a cyclonic section that causes the air to rotate about a central axis of the air precleaner, imparting a centripetal force on the particles. The centripetal force and the electrostatic force act together to filter the air.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 23, 2023Publication date: April 24, 2025Applicant: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: Philip Carl Spengler, Franklin Jeffrey Kostecki, Alex Raymond Kuscsik, Patrick James White McNulty, Stephen Christopher Sheltra

Patent number: 12254069Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for identifying and consenting to permissions for workflow and code execution. Aspects of the invention can be used to automatically scan a workflow or code definition to identify (potentially all) the actions/triggers a workflow or program intends to perform on behalf of a user. The user is shown the actions/triggers the workflow or program intends to perform (e.g., at a user interface) before consent to perform the actions/triggers is granted. As such, a user is aware of intended actions/triggers of a workflow or program before granting consent. Further, since actions/triggers are identified from the workflow or code definition (and not formulated by an author), permission requests better align with permissions that workflow or program functionality actually uses during execution.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2023Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY LICENSING, LLCInventors: Sunay Vaishnav, Merwan Vishnu Hade, Stephen Christopher Siciliano, David Nissimoff, Fnu Anubhav

Patent number: 12218812Abstract: Techniques are described for verifying connectivity in a virtualized computing environment comprising networked computing devices having internal endpoints that are configured with operational connectivity to external endpoints. A connectivity test component is configured to execute as a virtual resource in the virtualized computing environment, execute protocol-aware connectivity tests that enable detection of connectivity errors between the internal endpoints and external endpoints, and instantiate or access network interfaces for establishing connectivity between the internal endpoints and external endpoints. A configuration file defines connectivity types between the internal endpoints and external endpoints. Based on the configuration file, the connectivity test component is executed in the virtualized computing environment. An output is generated by the connectivity test component that is indicative of results of connectivity attempts in accordance with the configuration file.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2021Date of Patent: February 4, 2025Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Philip Joel Davies, Jonathan Phillips, Stephen Christopher Madden, Andrew Chrissie Edmonds, Steven Edward Orbell, Andrew McCurdy, Catherine Gallagher, Jason Dackins
