Abstract: The invention provides an article for use with an animal, particularly a domesticated animal, comprising an antimicrobial agent and a polymer, wherein the antimicrobial agent is a quaternary ammonium compound. More specifically, the invention provides articles, such as grooming tools, for equestrian use which are capable of preventing the spread of diseases such as strangles, ringworm and diseases associated with Mycotoxins such as Fusarium.
