    Abstract: For use in a power distribution system having first and second output power feeds having corresponding first and second circuit protection devices associated therewith, a monitoring system and a method of monitoring a utilization of the power distribution system. In one embodiment, the monitoring system includes: (1) first and second status sensors that sense statuses of the first and second circuit protection devices, respectively and (2) a controller, coupled to the first and second status sensors, that employs the statuses to determine a loading of the first and second output power feeds and calculates a utilization of the power distribution system based on the loading.
