  • Patent number: 8578976
Abstract: An above-ground, structure-mounted rain water collection, storage, and utilization apparatus is herein disclosed, comprising a vertical plastic tank situated along a wall of a structure where downspouts are typically present. Rain water would flow from a downspout into a screened top portion of the tank. Once filled, integral overflow spouts may be utilized to divert excess water to either another apparatus unit, a downspout, or a hose for normal grade level dispersal. The apparatus would be supported by a base structure at grade. The bottom of the tank would be tapered to avoid the collection of silt and would terminate in a conventional spigot valve providing conventional connection to a hose system for subsequent recycled use. The apparatus may also be provided with an alternate in-line pump to provide a pressurized supply of water.

  • Patent number: 5832902
Abstract: A unitary temperature control bypass and fuel filtering device for an engine for heating fuel in the fuel filter. The device has an entry passage for receiving excess fuel from the engine, a first outlet passage for communicating with the fuel tank and a second outlet passage directing heated fuel into the fuel filtering device and then terminating in the first outlet passage. A central chamber communicating with the entry and outlet passages is centrally located between the passages and has a piston therein having reciprocal movement between the outlet passages for selectively blocking one of the outlet passages, wherein the piston is responsive to the fuel temperature in the filtering device.

  • Patent number: 5535724
Abstract: A fuel pulsation dampener for reducing and dampening fuel pressure pulsations and for checking excessive back flow or siphoning of fuel on both the supply side and return side of the fuel lines in order to maintain fuel levels within the fuel injectors of an internal combustion engine during the starting and stopping of the engine. The fuel pulsation dampener provides a housing having a first and second enclosed chambers that remain in communication with one another via a passageway. The first chamber provides a first inlet and a first outlet wherein the first inlet communicates pressurized fuel into the first chamber. The first outlet has at least one port for communicating fuel in the first chamber downstream of the first chamber to the fuel injectors of the engine. The second chamber provides a second outlet and a second inlet wherein the second inlet communicates fuel into the second chamber from upstream of the second chamber.

  • Patent number: 5307770
Abstract: A priming pump valve for use in conjunction with a fuel system, such as a diesel engine, that does not result in a lag in the fuel flow during normal system operation. The priming pump valve has a control valve movable between a first position for normal operation and a second position for priming that allows for efficient priming of the fuel system when in the priming mode and unrestricted flow of fuel during normal operation of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4185362
Abstract: A tensioning device for maintaining tension in ropes, cables and the like is disclosed. The device includes a boss member over which one of the lines passes and which changes the direction of the line and a pair of pivoting gripping members which are designed to allow one of the lines to pass freely in one direction but to prohibit motion of the line in the opposite direction. The device may be employed to tension lines such as tent lines, clotheslines and the like.
